Have any approaches to achieving a painterly cartoon type of effects to footage? (like the Comic Book effect in iPhone clips, or similar like in PrismaAI) Something like the roto-comic effect in A Scanner Darkly, Waking Life, or Amazon's Undone. I've experimented with the Resolve watercolor effect and messing around with layering edge detect nodes, but haven't been able to come up with anything that's as good quality as the iPhone Clips or Prisma filters. Great channel!.. have been enjoying the vids!

Hi Mate, thank you for this video. I have a question: You say it's recommended to have a backup of the project library before to upgrade. I'd like to create a backup. however if you look at the project windows, strangely the backup project library button is not there! How to proceed to perform a backup then? I'm stuck with this upgrade library window until I find out. Any idea anyone?

I followed the whole process but it still asks me for an activation key😅 my download options are only both 18 including the Hollywood American version or something then the standard, I downloaded the standard but it still gives me an activation key

Worldwide Love and Support Billy! What do I have to do to pay you for some personal help?? I’m having the worlds hardest time now with color management on one of my videos. Recorded it and play it on media player, and looks perfect. But when I drag it into daVinci it has a gray film over it🤔 there’s a black screen in the beginning of the video and the thumbnails on daVinci show that it’s black but when I play it on the timeline everything is grayer.

I got an issue typing in my credentials, I cannot select a country or the product at the top left of the panel (therefore not allowing me to download it) and the title of the window is simply "{{downloadTitle}}" when it should be "DaVinci Resolve 18.0 Beta 1". I have tried downloading version 17.0 of DaVinci Resolve and yet the same error...

After thoroughly searching the internet I have found a third party mediafire download file with version 17 from about a month ago. It is the same and the accounts link to the website. Disappointed that the original site wouldn't allow me to download.

I'm not completely sure why you have to register to download it, but whatever. I'm currently downloading it. I've been stuck with Davinci Resolve 16 for a while. So, I thought I'd try to update as I really like the program a lot.

I have had so many issues with this ive watched so many different videos ive installed it so many times i still dont know whats happening I installed the free version and then it dosent show up anywhere. I finnaly found it using windows + r and typing C:\Program Files\Blackmagic Design\DaVinci Resolve I found the resolve app and opened it and it asked me for a key even though i installed the free version. Ive double triple checked i did the right one but its the same issue. any thoughts?

Trying so hard to get this program to work but all I get is an icon that says black magic raw. I have tried 4 times. I have a virtually brand new apple 2021 i mac all in one with m1 chip 8 core cpu 8 core GPU and ram with 512SSD. Do I need to install other drivers or something called PostSQL 13. I could really use some tips and tricks here please. Thank you!

Just installed 18 Studio but causes my GPU memory to fill, MSI1030, which 17 did not do. Just upgraded the rest of the machine to I7 processor and new mother board. Deleted 18 and gone back to 17 Billy.

Hi, it's me again, i managed to download and extract DaVinci Resolve 18 free on my windows, but as i double clicked it (following this video) then there's a note popping up, it says: Do you want to allow this app to make changes to your device?...What does that mean?..I'm concerned i will risk the safety and capability of my device, and losing some of my important files and other apps on my device(laptop). So, i didn't get to continue. Please, make this clear to me, i'm waiting for your clarification. Thank you.

It doesn't work for me. After I agree to the terms of service and stuff and it starts installing, windows gives me an error saying the specified path is unavailable. C:\Users\(insert name here)\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft. Can anybody help?

That registration form on the download tab is the sole reason I haven’t tried davinci yet. I'm extremely uncomfortable with the prospect of giving my phone # , but i've thankfully learned (besides email and state etc.), you can effectively write "big chungus" for everything else.

So if you already have 17, you just download 18, and then what do you do with the 17 version? Does it just stay in your desktop? And does everything in your resolve 17. Library transfer to the resolve 18?
