why doesn't hardie make two sizes of trim boards so you don't have to trim one out to make a symmetrical corner? Also, why doesn't hardie make a 1 1/2" starter piece that is already cut?

Nice job great video. Surprised you don't install the screws halfway in ahead of time so when it comes time to hang you can just simply fasten them :)

What is the trim material made of? Is it hardie?

Using LP Smart (OSB!) trim boards completely defeats the purpose of using Hardie cement fiberboard siding. The siding will far outlast the trim and you will be replacing the trim in a fraction of the life of the siding.

the corners should come pre ripped .ripping a but load of corners is a pain in the but.

can you use regular primed 1 x4 lumber for trim?

Great question Gary Darpel! It is recommended you choose trim boards thicker than the overall thickness of the siding material. If the siding material stands out or proud of the corner trim, there will be a higher chance of water penetrating behind the siding. You should consider making sure the material for the corner trim is rated for outdoor use by the manufacturer. Standard construction lumber will most likely warp, twist, cup and/ or even rot in the outdoor elements.
