Hill Hold Assist is a fantastic upgrade for all vehicles. No more risky hill starts when you have Hill Hold Assist installed and now you can learn "How To" fit it yourself!
In this 52-minute walkthrough "How To" video, Richard shows you all the necessary steps from starting the installation, right the way up to coding it into the vehicle. If you are interested in how to professionally fit this into your vehicle yourself (DIY), this is the video for you and all the vehicle-specific kit can be purchased from us.
Coding varies considerably; even different specs of the same model vehicle can require different coding, so this part has not been included to avoid confusion.
See the "How To" steps below:
00:00 - Start of Video.
Step 1 - 00:22 - Introduction.
Step 2 - 02:51 - Use your Audi Radio keys to remove the switch panel.
Step 3 - 03:33 - Open up the main central console area and carefully unplug the plugs from the bottom of the panel (remembering order and placement).
Step 4 - 07:19 - Remove the blank button from the central console and replace it with the Hill Hold Assist Button.
Step 5 - 12:45 - Pin out the Hill Hold Assist plug and run the cable neatly to the glove box area.
Step 6 - 19:32 - Refit the central console and plug in all plugs. Then reattach the switch panel.
Step 7 - 27:20 - Secure the cable to the loom at the back of the glovebox so it is ready to run the cable through the grommet into the engine bay using a pull rod (or coat hanger)
Step 8 - 33:21 - Attach the cable to the pull rod (or coat hanger) and pull or push it through the engine bay grommet until the cable is near the ABS Module (two people may be required).
Step 9 - 35:03 - Unplug the ABS Plug from the ABS Module and then open the ABS plug to access the internal pins.
Step 10 - 39:37 - Count the pin locations until you find the correct pins and then pin out the connections required (32 & 23 on this vehicle). Then rebuild the plug, cloth tape, cable tie and replug the ABS Plug back into the ABS Module.
Step 11 - 45:13 - Tidy up the passenger footwell and neatly tie back any slack from the cable. Then refit the glovebox, side trim and corner trim.
Step 12 - 47:41 - Code in Hill Hold Assist to your specification.
Step 13 - 49:17 - Test your Hill Hold Assist.
Step 14 - 51:29 - Sign off
