How to install LG AC window/wall mount housing surrounds unit is what this DIY howto video is about. VideoJoe is now ready to install the outside housing surrounds for his new LG AC window/wall mount unit. *Totally impressive **Fastly.Cool** in my room. Wish I designed this myself. We can’t believe how quiet it is. It’s not as heavy as our last AC unit but it works more evenly and efficiently. Extremely happy with this purchase.*

Can I install a through the wall ac unit in my living room with the garage on the otherside?

Generally it's best to have the backside of the wall ac unit go to the outside for fresh air & exhaust. If the garage is at the back of the ac then all of your exhaust is going into the garage. Can you pick a different wall in the living room so the AC back extends to the outside? Your AC unit could heat up too if it exhausts directly into your garage. I have never seen one exhaust into a garage...not sure how well it will work or last...

when would i angle the ac for the condensation to fall out the back?

I would always angle an ac unit housing so the water will always drain out of the back side of the unit. You never want the ac unit installed level or slightly tilted towards your room. You risk water damage to your wall. You only need to angle the housing about half an inch & you're good. Good luck!

Always angle it back, and when you run it - check water drips out the back. Should be quite a lot dripping out after about half hour. I always make sure the drain hole in the unit is always drilled out BEFORE mounting the main unit up in the wall (some units come shipped with the drain hole closed). Some people tend to run them full of water, but no way, it will rust the hell out if it.

Ha! The thing I liked about these LG units was that it was easy to install the housing since it was light enough to install all by myself before lifting the heavy insert into place. With the all one piece units it makes it heavy to lift then try to install in the exact position. See what I mean? At least now you know. Thanks for checking out this video. Good idea. I've made thousands of videos but I've never put a link at the end of a video before to help viewers to just click on the next one so your point is well noted! The best way to find more videos of this project (or any other) is to go to my main KZfaq channel page then click on playlists then scroll down to AC projects & you will find them all there. I have put all of my videos into playlists at least, so viewers can go to my playlists & find all kinds of things there as I have over 50 DIY topics to choose from so I have at least done that but yes your suggestion is a good one for sure. I know! Now it's 40 year! All you have to do is save your caulking tube for 40 years & don't forget to save the receipt where you purchased it as well. Then guess what you could possibly get? One new tube of caulking. Of course they won't cover any damages that their caulking may have caused if you can prove you installed it correctly & it failed. Good luck with that.....!
