Note you may have to turn on VMX for intel cpus in your bios. This was the issue for me.

Well... my system is i7 9700k 64 GB RAM Win 11. I install Linux Mint 21.2, give it 6 processors, 10 GB RAM, 256 MB video ram. RESULT: Veeeery slow. 3 minutes to boot, about 2 minutes to open firefox, 3 mutes to load youtube, I can't play video even at 360p... I tried it three times with the same effect ... just unacceptable.

I thought RAM couldn't be shared between VMs? (Only CPU) Why would you choose 24GB of RAM when 4GB would work just fine and leave tons available for additional VMs?

@@ADistantscream If you intend on having more than one VM running at the same time then sure, but most people don't do that, they usually have their host and their VM and so it makes sense to leave 60% for host and 40% for VM, selecting the 40% doesn't mean the next time you set up a VM you will have 40% less ram to choose from, it just means when you are running Mint instead of having 32gb you have 24gb instead
