@brokemexicanreviews
@brokemexicanreviews Жыл бұрын
Let me make sure I understand you correctly. You already lowered the front by changing/cutting the springs? And now you are trying to lower the rear end with 4 inch blocks and asking if you need to change the rear shocks?

This might be a dumb question but what if he hits something under the car like will it increase the probability of stuff hitting that shock thing?
@brokemexicanreviews
@brokemexicanreviews 2 ай бұрын
Since the blazer is lowered it will definitely increase the chances of hitting things.

Good video. I hate to sound like a complainer... You said the taper should be towards the front. At 4:55, the block looks like the taper should be toward the rear - There is a gap in front. The leaf springs curve upward towards the rear. So shouldn't the block also taper towards the rear? Is the way you have it installed correct? Thank you for taking time to make the video! It is the best one I've seen. Just became interested in lowering my '04 Colorado yesterday.
@brokemexicanreviews
@brokemexicanreviews Жыл бұрын
I made this video a few months back. This is the first time I’ve been questioned about it…I’m fairly sure I installed with the taper facing the correct direction. It said it on the package which way it should face. They sit flush now without any gaps so I’m assuming I did it correctly😂. Anyways it was a very easy install. Thanks and make sure to subscribe.

gonna do 3in blocks in the rear and 2in spindles up front... would that level it and give it a nice little lower or would you recommend a 3/4 drop?
@brokemexicanreviews
@brokemexicanreviews Жыл бұрын
It should. Take a measurement of the center of the tire well on the front and back and that will tell you the difference between the front and back. They will help you get a better idea on how your blazer/s10 sits. Please make sure to subscribe. Thank you.

this is all new to me, i have an 03 4dr blazer LS i want to lower it so it is easier for me to get in. i was thinking 2" or 3" all around, i just need blocks and ubolts? is it good to replace the shocks and struts while I'm at it?
@brokemexicanreviews
@brokemexicanreviews Жыл бұрын
I believe if you lower only 2 inches you do not have to change the shocks/struts unless you want to. I only lowered the rear end on mine so it would level out. You would have to order another kit to lower the front also...or a kit to lower the entire blazer. This video is definitely step by step for the rear end though. Also something else to consider...If you lower the front you have to get an alignment also. Please make sure to subscribe and feel free to ask more questions.

@brokemexicanreviews
@brokemexicanreviews Жыл бұрын
I can’t not tell you the width…they are the same width as the stock ones…the length was way too long so I cut about 2” off them with a grinder. I’m guessing the manufacturer sends the same length for all lowering(2-5”) If you have any more questions just ask…please do me a favor and subscribe…would really help the channel. Thank you.

Don't do it. I'm outside taking my rear blocks off of a 2001 jimmy sls now. Had them on for probably 5 or 6 years. The truck, which is a manual trans , began to feel like it was trying to turn left when i hit the gas or had high torque then would drop back down to the right when I let off. I've been looking for the cause for months. Reading up on leaf springs I discovered that these blocks cause issues with axle wind up which sounds like a good description of my issue. I have 2" drop spindles up front which were a bitch to do but they work well. They say the proper way to drop the back would either be a new leaf spring with a different curve (not cheap)or drop shackles which lower the leaf spring attachment point. I haven't had either yet but they say to lower the support of the axle is just asking for it which these blocks do. Might want to look into it.

I hope that doesn’t happen. I’ve had my lowing blocks for about 1.5 years no issues…but have also only put about 5k miles on it since then
@ckennedy309
@ckennedy309 7 ай бұрын
@@brokemexicanreviews In started to notice something felt loose about a year ago. So they didn't give problems that I noticed until I had probably around 50k miles on the blocks. The truck has 138k total so I'm due a little bit of everything. But at this point the only thing I can point at are those blocks.

@@brokemexicanreviews OK so I've got this wrapped up and had the chance to get it up to speed. The blocks were absolutely responsible for the body of the truck pitching left. Just to be clear the front wheels weren't turning left. I'm not by any means a mechanic nor have I ever wanted to be . I just hate paying for something I can struggle to do. But I CAN confirm that mechanics earn every penny. So something else that I think but not know is I've had a shimmy beneath my seat that of course you tube teaches us is a Ujoint. So I changed out the joints a while back and that cleared up for 2 or 3 days, if that, then returned. Now that the blocks are out it's much less shimmy to the jimmy. So I'm guessing the drive train has had more stress at that angle than it likes. I'm sure the second time around with the ujoint won't be quite as fun. GMC ujoints are fun the first go around. AND I'm not so sure that will be the end of the issues created. So the moral of the story is...don't do it. There are better ways...I think.

I’ll cry if this happen. I just ordered 2” DJM drop spindles for the front. If I have this issue I will pull the blocks and probably do 3 in drop shackles in the back. So for now I don’t regret the blocks….but thank you for the update! Definitely will help others decide.
