This how to video is about installing Mac OS Mojave on an older Mac not supported by the OS. In this video, I will be using my 2011 MacBook Pro as a test subject for this hack.

I did it on my 2011 mbp, it worked faster than 2019 macbooks and then after days the system crashed and he was dead

For some reason when I click on the flash drive on the boot screen nothing happens. It shows me a circle with a diagonal line through it. I know it means it’s an error but does it mean my MacBook doesn’t support it at all or that there’s a problem with the downloaded boot file?

Did you switch to internal graphics? These 2011 models run the risk of having the AMD graphics fail, after that booting is no longer possible. Its like a ticking time bomb.

Updates are not necessary. Recommended but not necessary - watching this on a MacBook Pro Early 2011 updated to macOS Mojave. :P

One question, could I use different sys definition, maybe mcbook pro 8.1, for my mbp 8.2 late 2011, since my dGPU is dead? Or some else with integrated HD3000, only difference is the cpu.

I have the same mac. Upgrade is easy, thanks for explaining. But one thing I would never do, is running an OS that I can no longer patch. Did you try patches on this computer?

I did. Dos Dudes released some patches that installed once the OS was up and running.

Wish I could tell you. My MacBook doesn't hold a charge very well. I've even replaced the battery with no luck. Sometimes I can get 2 hours, sometimes it only goes for 20min. Maybe someone else can weigh in.

Best thing to do, is put in another HDD and try the install if you don't want to mess up your data. You can try to partition the drive, but I wouldn't recommend it.

i dont know why they cant just have dark mode work on all versions of os. i mean.. seriously it cant be that hard to implement dark mode. heck windows xp you could have in dark mode. You selected the wrong mac in the post install that's what fixed the issue fro me.

Have you performed MacOS post install? Your system will reboot after installation and then you will have to boot it again from your MacOS bootable pen drive and click on MacOS Post Install - In most of the cases it prefects the model, Go ahead and select your MacBook model from dropdown and install the necessary drivers. That's it. System will restart and then only your OS will work.
