Let us show you how to install a Door Lock Vacuum Actuator for the Mercedes W220 S430 S55 S600
If your car door lock actuator is not working properly, a common problem is that the plastic air reservoir (at the bottom of the actuator) is broken or cracked. Air leaks will cause the actuator to not be able to pull the door to the close position. This rebuilt kit is designed to fix the problem without changing the complete assembly.

In order to remove the rear passenger side door actuator, I needed to remove the outer door handle linkage using a mirror. I will make a video showing what I did for your edification. Once that linkage is removed, I removed the door handle entirely, very straight forward. (video link infra). Disconnect the electrical lines and vacuum line and the entire assembly will slide down without removing any rivets or removing the window tracks. The actuator assembly gets binded on the inner door handle assembly, so they both should be freed up at the same time. Hope that helps. Remove the screw through the circular window at the door edge, then remove the handle molding and body (outer). Then the inner handle just pulls out be sliding it to the outside. Fairly straightforward. This was for the rear assembly on an 2004 s500. The others will be similar. I'll put together photo shoot or video as soon as I get a moment. I agree with all the other comments here, the missing footage is a huge disappointment and disservice to the DIY MB community.

the exact same problem with the trunk actuator. these piece are also made of metal now so that they dont break as easily. Thanks for this Vid. shows me everything i need to disconnect and where my screws go

Where is the shot where the thing works? Like a here it is finished shot? I saw another video where the guy does the job and then says it only worked for about 50 door closings. I wonder if this is the same part and manufacturer?

This whole video is useless. Taking the panels off is no big deal. There is no way this guy could have taken the lock itself out of the car without drilling rivets, etc. So this is bogus...

Pretty useless - shows the easy parts. I would really like to see him (or anyone else) get the lock assembly out of the door without moving the window bar. This video won't help the customers very much...

When the door panels off get on the ground look up to see what you're hanging on you'll see a white tab that wraps around a bar that goes vertical to the ground. The white tab pull the one side pops the bar off assembly comes out

For the people complaining about how he is doing things, and the music choice, you are more than welcome to pay a specialist who will do the repair for you. All you have to do is drop off the car to them, and go home to listen to your choice of music. When the car is done, you can PAY, and pick it up. Thank you so much for the video. If I lock my S 430 and leave it for two days, the battery will drain flat and the rear right door stays unlocked!!! If I don't lock the doors, the battery stays strong and doesn't drain. The right rear door locks normally when I lock or unlock the door. You think you can help me with this problem. I think maybe there is an intermittent vacuum leak. Have you dealt with a problem like this. Thank you.

The door locks or the trunk could be leaking, but without knowing which one (or any combination) your repair efforts will be painful. Best to take the car to a Euro car repair shop and have them do a 'smoke' test. They can put smoke in the system that will show anywhere you have a leak. Shouldn't cost much and will save you A LOT of labor. . 3 things: 1) This video is total Crap.. they intentionally left out the hardest part of the repair (see first comment) that makes this a very risky DIY repair. The company is trying to sell the part. It 'can' be done, but most have had to totally remove the window or drill out window frame studs (and replace with bolts) to remove the actuator assembly. 2) If your PSE (vacuum) pump is running so long that it is running down your battery, you will soon burn it out.. then ALL your doors and trunk won't work and you'll have another expensive part to replace (though much easier to do). 3) I have doubts that your problem is just the leaking door actuator, it could be a controller fault. Usually, the pse pump will shutdown if it runs to long, this would stop the battery drain long before it goes flat. You could find and pull the fuse for the pse pump after locking the doors and wait a couple of days to see if the battery still drains.. if it doesn't, it's not a 'vacuum' leak (the pump is not running).

Thank you for taking your time to reply to my comment. I no longer lock the car!!! And the battery was good after leaving the car for 2 weeks ( I left the country for two weeks and upon arrival I found the battery very strong). All doors lock without any problem. All doors stay lock as long as there is battery. The ONLY ONE that unlocks after the battery is drained is the right rear door. So I guess it is safe to assume that the problem is with that door. Could it be the controller as you wrote?

my 1989 S430 driver door soft close just stopped working yesterday Grrr. called a repair shop who stated it will cost $ 1300 to fix, lmao..told him ill be the close it tight myself. Watching this video, is that the repair kit I need as well? heard a clonk/air leak sound and it stopped working. Any thoughts

you take the time to record this and then a critical part, the actual removal of the actuator assembly, you try it few moments and then just jump over it. AND do it again on the re-install. this is typical garbage. this is an area where the viewer that needs this help will likely encounter the problem you seem to have encountered and you just jump it... this sucks. you should do it right or remove the video. I have seen this too many times. and when following those video it WILL be the point of a hang up with no help from the video instruction...jeezz.. even showing the reinstallation to the last few screws... something you could have omitted because you see it at the beginning during the disassembly....
