How to install Polo 6r/6c F1 rain light

I wanted to install one of these F1 rain lights since I saw RPHD install it on his *Golf* they're so sick. I can't install one because mine has no diffuser this was such a cool addition to the car and a great tutorial looking forward to the next install 😃

If i dont want the strobe effect, so i connect the red wire to the white wire, do i need to connect the yellow wire to something?

Black to brown Red to white Leave yellow disconnected

I have a 2012 1.4 polo I connected the wires the same way you did, when I put the ignition on the light goes on and when I press the break the light does the strobe effect but once I start the car and step on the break there's no strobe, why doesn't the strobe effect work when the cars started thanks

If you've wired it up exactly as I have then I'm not sure why it's not working when the car is on. Is the f1 light on when you turn on the car but just doesn't strobe or is it completely off ?

How do you find what wires are what for a different car?

I'm not too sure tbh, I just searched around on Google until I found some sort of diagram for the polo. I guess you could search up whatever model car you have and put taillight wiring diagram at the end etc. Or maybe there's some videos on KZfaq of someone doing something to their Taillights on your model car and they might say what wire is for what. Or if your comfortable with a multimeter you could test the wires yourself. Those are all the methods I can think of atm.

yo ive installed it using brown and red cable(from f1 light black and yellow), it works perfectly fine when ignition is on as soon as i start the car F1 light goes off and does nothing. Any ideas what wrong?

When you start the car and you press the brake, does anything happen ?

If not, connect the red wire from your f1 light to your taillight light ( not the brake light but the normal light that comes on in your taillight ) and then see if it works.

Hi, how should I connect the cables if I want it to light up only when I brake? when i don’t brake i want it to be off

Connect the red wire to your brake light wire. Do exactly what I did in the video but instead of connecting the yellow wire to the brake light connect the red wire and leave the yellow wire disconnected.

Do you want it to strobe or just come on as a solid light ?

If you want it to strobe then keep it how you have it connected now, if you want it to turn on as a solid light then you can do the method above. :)

@@RCS_716 the way I have it, it's great. I combined white & yellow, brown & black. I left the red one disconnected. And now when I brake it flashes, when I don't brake it is off. and that's great

Hi! Top video thank you I installed the same light on my car, when I turn on the ignition without turning on the engine, it works Niquel, on the other hand as soon as I turn on the engine, it works during braking and then nothing... you don't know how I could fix this?

Thanks :) How do you want it setup ? Do you want it to flash when breaking and and stay solid when not breaking or do you want it not to flash etc,etc?

@@RCS_716 I want it to flash but the connection works when the engine is off but the moment I turn it on the assembly no longer works

@@RCS_716 I have a black wire which is the ground so I connect it either to my battery or anywhere it comes to the same thing and the red wire to the left rear light stop wire

Do you have a yellow wire aswell ?
