What if you choose the option as an extender?

Hi i have a few questions with this. 1. Why would you use this when you can siren your cameras? 2. With the router replacement, does this give better range than a standard router? Ie. Can i get full signal of at least 30 metres range of wifi? 3. I am from Australia and if i pay the subscription how long does it take ring to arrive at your house? Is there a turn around time guarantee?

I have a question. In AZ we have Cox for Internet. It is high speed unlimited Data and I currently have 3 wifi extenders. Is the Eero replacing this? Does this change the way our internet works and how would I be able to compare? We work from home and use the internet a lot which is why this is important to me.

Hey there, Bruce. Knowing how the Alarm Pro and eero mesh together is essential when building your whole home security system. If you have an existing eero mesh network setup, we generally recommend adding Alarm Pro as an extender instead of replacing your eero gateway device. You can find more information on this here: support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/6154718893972-Alternative-Alarm-Pro-eero-Wifi-Network-Configuration-Options.

Hey, JC. Ring has partnered with eero to provide neighbors with a faster and stronger home network option. By utilizing eero’s wifi system, neighbors can improve their overall experience with their smart home security system. Eero blankets neighbors’ homes in fast, reliable wifi. Instead of a single router, eero uses multiple access points placed throughout the home to create a wireless mesh network that covers every room. This provides faster app and alert loading times, less time spent with live video footage buffering, and reliable security.

Hello, Ring team! It's very nice that you answer your users' questions) Your whole system is very good, looks safe, but one question is bugging me, let me know if you already answered it in some video, but I can't find the answer to my question. What if a thief goes straight in and destroys the main station? Will it have time to inform the servers that the countdown has started or not, so that the servers wait for a response that all is well, that the password has been entered? Thanks for your work with the community! ❤️

Hello neighbor, those are great questions. In order for you to access all the features in a Ring Alarm system, you have to be connected to wifi. Ring Alarm Pro does have a built-in eero Wi-Fi 6 router, but you would still need to have an internet service provider. Also, Ring Alarm Pro offers a cellular backup system kicks in that will allow the system to continue to monitor your home. To note, you will need to have a Ring Protect plan to use the cellular backup system. You can see how Ring Alarm Pro works here: ring.com/products/security-system-alarm-pro-8. Please let us know if you have any other questions we can help with.

@tomfoolery8640
@tomfoolery8640 Жыл бұрын
It's in addition to what you have, it doesn't mean you're paying for 2 internet providers. The cellular feature is optional if you pay for the monitor service by whatever plan you choose otherwise you're just using your current provider and self monitoring your system through the app.

Having eero pro 6 mesh, can i replace my eero pro 6 gateway with ring alarm pro as a gateway without having to go all over with setting already existing devices up. I want to have same credentials on my new setup as I had with my eero pro 6 mesh, just switch gateways. Thank you

Thanks for following up with us. In the event you update or change your router, you will need to reconnect all wifi enabled devices again manually as the hardware creating the network itself has changed. You can find more information regarding how to set up the Ring Alarm Pro as your main router here: support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/6154718893972-Alternative-Alarm-Pro-eero-Wifi-Network-Configuration-Options. @@ring hello and thank you for replying. Well I would have to disagree in general because even switching routers from totally different manufacturer will let you keep your stuff as long as you create same credentials in the new one. I haven't tried it personally but know someone who did and things stayed connected. Not saying your wrong but selling a built in eero to people who already have eeros should be planned better. I have close to 300 devices all together so me adding every one of these again is a big no no. I doublt with ring customer service before and you guys were wrong on 50/50 things I asked, that is why I'm willing to try it, just hate returning stuff afterwards. Thank you for your response and I will update your customers once I get it going

@scrappy93 you can't because their new alarm unit must be a gateway, you can not just add this to your mesh. You could use your eeros as satellites but credentials would have to be from ring alarm pro as gateway

Hello Crystal. We'd be happy to answer your question. Ring devices, including our Ring Alarm system, do not require a subscription or a contract to use. However, if you'd prefer to have professional monitoring with our Ring Alarm Pro, you would need to subscribe to a Ring Protect Pro plan for either $20 a month or $200 per year per location. You can read more about it here: ring dot com/protect-plans. Please reach out to us on Facebook Messenger or Twitter if you have any other questions. We're here to help.

If i have three eero pro 6 where one of them is a gateway, should my gateway eero be replaced with alarm pro as a gateway or it can be added as a satellite. If I have to replace my existing gateway with alarm pro as gateway, will the other two connect to it, considering I will have same wifi credentials?

Hey Paul, having that complete Ring of security creates a peace of mind when being able to see and hear whoever is at your home. Your Alarm Pro Base Station has a built-in eero router that allows you to replace your existing wifi router. @@ring sure. My question is about speed limitation of your inbuilt Wi-Fi router in your pro model. I have 1.2 gigabit connection. But the eero 6 you have inside your ring alarm pro supports only up to 600mbps. 50% of my current internet speed. Any plans to overcome this limitation? Potential ring buyers may chose competitors because of this limitation of yours.

@@ring ok thanks. 900 mbps is through the physical Ethernet port. Not the Wi-Fi speed. Your ring alarm pro’s Wi-Fi speed is 600mbps only. Which is a disadvantage and blocks me from choosing ring ! @ring
@ring 5 ай бұрын
Great question, neighbor! When the power goes out, you have a few options to keep your Ring Alarm Pro powered on. Alarm Pro has an internal backup battery inside the Base Station that can provide backup power. As a note, when using the internal battery, you may have limited access to Alarm features only. Another option would be Ring Power Packs, which can be found on our website here: ring.com/products/ring-power-pack. Power Packs can provide external battery backup for your Alarm Pro. Connect up to 4 fully-charged Power Packs to a single Alarm Pro to use the alarm, cameras, and everything else on your Wi-Fi network. One Power Pack lasts for up to 8 hours. For more information about what options you have when the power goes out, see here: ring.com/support/articles/wns0y/Using-Ring-Alarm-Pro-During-a-Power-Outage. If you have additional questions, please send us a DM on Twitter or a PM on Facebook. We are always here to help in any way that we can.
