I would probably just have stapled it in that rebate and made a small finishing trim to cover those staples.

We tried a bunch of different ways. The hardest thing is getting an even pull on the cloth so the pattern looks correct and no wrinkles. The screen is repeatable and trainable and gives it a little more protection from impact when you leave the screen behind it.
