Really good looking job! I made a few little houses look-a-like used for vents, that are mounted over the ridge. Not fan of that job but easy to install. Struggling to find nice metal shears, what are those you're using?

We run the panels first, then use a piece of z-bar on either side of the ridge, held in on the back side by 3 screws. We too use a piece of ridge as a “jig” to align each piece of Z as it’s put down. This method ensures no wind driven rain or damming ice can get under the panels, it also allows us to secure the panel anywhere in the field within the first 1.5 inches closest to the ridge when working with small crews or on steep roofs. I’ve never seen this method before! How do the panels tie in?

Yeah, I hear ya you do standard Z-bar methods which I lump under sealant reliant system. The system in the video relies on watershed for the trim details to be affected no sealant anywhere, but rather a bread pan at the top of the panel that shoved inside of a j mould flashing

I see ( 1:18 ) I’ll have to bend some stuff up and do some testing! Seems like if ice/ snow were to dam under the ridge water may be able to force its way under the panels.

I have been watching your videos as i find them really interesting. In the UK we would recommend a sealant to be used on the ridge overlap, and for fixings to be used at approximately 15" centres to hold the ridge to the sheeting. How come this system doesnt use a sealant or additional fixings?

This system we only use 4/12 slope and up because it needs a proper drainage for the trim to function properly

We wouldn’t use sealant in the UK for any, we’d make a water check fold on the underlap and lap by 100mm

Do you install hard metals at all? He’s doing it the same way as we would with Zinc, Copper, Steel, GreenCoat and Ally? You’re referring to a corrugated system I think?

@robmiller7129 I haven't fitted a standing seam systems as of yet. I'm going to be making a mock roof at work as I would like to try a few different details using Greencoat Pro BT. My company supplies corrugated and box profile roofing and cladding, so you're 100% correct, I am comparing this fitment to this type of sheeting.
