As a backyard mechanic this video was very useful to see what i need to do to install mine. As a professional welder i died a little inside.

I had just built a strong 355 for my iroc and tore the floor all the way in half from the right door to the left door! But what i wanted to say is because i had to deal with the floors, I welded all my sub-frame members Exactly half above and half below the floor line joining the floor to the members with New carpet and an extra layer of insulation(for noise) and you can barely tell i did it from the inside and i have NO Exhaust Clearance issues or ground clearance problems, If you look under my car they dont slap you in the face, and are more integrated than traditional add on. It made for a ton more welding, but the car is SO rock solid I replaced the rear suspension components with Strange Engineering tubular with polyurethane bushings, also polyurethane engine/trans mounts. SUB-FRAMES ARE A MUST DO, I can not tell you what a difference it made in every way.

If you attach the welders ground lug between the jam-nuts on the magnetic clamp it works easier

A few questions... Do you disconnect the battery first before welding? And should we worry about the heat transfer from welding to the carpet on the other side of the floor?

have a question on my 3rd gen. My car started running warm like half ways and goes up to as high as 3 quarters then comes down to half ways. before it would stay at a quarter and would only go over half on idle. any help is appreciated thanks.

A really good source for all things 3rd gen is www.thirdgen.org. This a really noticeable add on any T-top car. You will be amazed also check the 4 big bolts that hold the frt cross-member in place if there lose It's a no cost fix that may or may not need to be done. My experience was 1 in 3 of mine needed it,over the yrs and different cars.
