The overall steps are listed below.
Step 1: Start on level ground. If you are planning on hauling ATV’s or other heavy equipment, you may want to load the trailer and
tow vehicle with those items beforehand. Follow proper weight distribution guidelines according to the manufacturer’s
recommendations for tow vehicle and trailer. Make sure to stay within the limitations of each manufacturer’s maximum
weight recommendations.
Installation Step 2: INSTALLING SHANK AND BALL HOUSING (SWAY CONTROL)
Installation Step 3: ATTACHING THE TENSION PLATE AND CHAINS
Installation Step 5: SETTING THE TENSION
Installation Step 6: CHECKING AND ADJUSTING THE TENSION

Can I use the hitch n ball without the chains for different trailers or is that a bad idea

Confused towards the end, when your tightening the chains four turns where is the hitch, is the weight fully on vehicle or is the hitch putting no weight on vehicle and just resting on the ball

quick question to anyone, on the Anderson hitch, there are 2 receiver pin holes, Does it matter or have an effect on operation if you choose the hole closer to the truck or farther, If I use the 2nd hole to put the receiver pin through, it actually allows me to open my tailgate but I'm curious if this matters, I'm assuming not or they wouldn't have put the option there for 2 positions but wanted to get thoughts.

Hi, we just got our Anderson with our new Transcend. From my experience with towing, the further out the ball, the tighter turn you can make. But the further out, the lower your tongue weight capacity. I have a F350 and mine is in the 2nd hole. I'd only be worried about it if towing a heavier trailer with a 1/2 ton. I need to mess with mine as our ride home from the dealer was a bit hectic as I would get to swaying above 55. My truck as a 4K payload and the trailer is only 800# tongue weight so weight distribution isn't an issue but @ 36' long, sway is. They had it set up nose high on the trailer and in my experience, a trailer needs to level or slightly nose down.

@@DannerPlace It's better than the old school bars depending. I've had those on a Ram 1500 with a 6K TT and was not happy. White knuckle everytime. The Anderson's forte is sway control and porpoising. It's WD is limited and has to be appropriate for the TT and TV. Since I have a F350 with 4K payload, I don't need WD but with a 36' TT, I wanted good sway control and this system for the cost and how much we are going to be towing was the best option. Very few negatives in my research and most of those sounded like either setup incorrectly like mine was (way to nose high) or too heavy a TT for the TV. To each their own.
