Im having an issue where it just says "simply put, there was an unresolvable error", i can either cancel, in which it brings up a console window and tries to update the app (its already up to date and exits), or i can press the restart app button and then i wait in a "connecting to ea app" screen forever. I got to the sign in screen when i ran the installer, but after trying to add either EADesktop.exe or EALauncher.exe to steam, this just happens, i am using proton experimental, any ideas?

Also because of the slashes, they are not facing the correct direction so it isn’t interpreted correctly unless in quotations

Ive been running into the mindnumbing problem of the EA App not staying signed in AT ALL. It also will more than half the time just not log in saying there was some error. On top of that it forces me to do 2FA with an email key EVERYTIME I log in because it seems to think Im logging in for the first time from a new device EVERTIME I log in. Any suggestions on how to fix the EA nightmare? EDIT: I found a solution, see my reply below if you have the same issue

@@bonkulonius For me it turned out to be an internet connection issue, specifically it was an issue with IPV4 DNS. I fixed it by going into Desktop Mode, going to the WiFi settings and under the IPV4 tab switching from Automatic to Automatic (with addresses) and using 8 dot 8 dot 8 dot 8 as the DNS address (YT kept deleting my reply when i put in the DNS address with actual periods lol hopefully this one stays). Found this solution on a reddit thread and I've had no issues with the EA app connecting/logging in automatically now. It was a weird situation because I didn't notice my internet was an issue at all until I was trying to do some Skyrim modding on the Deck and it was taking minutes to load a Nexus mod page if it loaded at all....but downloading games through Steam seemed to work just fine with normal speeds. Hope this helps!

This doesn't work for me. I can't even get a login screen, not with the EA App or with the EA Desktop. Only a blank screen with no way to enter my EA id. I tried different suggestions to use with protontricks, I tried different proton version, but nothing changed. I'm a bit stumped here, first game I couldn't get to work with some tweaking.

WARNING: even if the ProtonDB version tells you that the game works it probably refers to the steam version of the game, not that of another Launcher Shift 2 according to Proton users works on steam deck, I tried to play it using Origins version instead of Steam version and the game was full of glitches in menus Of course with tutorials and experimental Proton run from Steam

However, now it wants on update and I keep getting the relaunch EA App. I do, but it just keeps asking and I can not figure out how to do it, unless I have to uninstall everything and start at the beginning each time they gave an update. I ended up just using Lutris instead and it’s been working great for me. This method was simple enough to follow and install, but whenever I launch the EA app with proton experimental it opens improperly. It’s hard to explain but basically the apps buttons and menus don’t look or function how they are supposed to. I tried using other versions of proton and it either resulted in the same issue or it just wouldn’t load at all.

Ea app is now asking for administrator privileges. I click yes and it cannot launch games like the C&C collection. Any work around? Wine should have by default administrator privileges in the prefix? Why is still asking and not working?

I’m trying to launch battlefront 2 I launch it, game freezes on the helmets and crashes I assume because I haven’t been able to log into EA app and while it installs it doesn’t open on the steamdeck Well the EA app seems to have the directory for battlefront 2 in the properties and I’m not entirely sure what to do about this, do I need to reinstall from the browser or do I paste the copied directory like normal

I have the same error, what I do is launcher the installer instead of the app. It will prompt you with a message asking if you wanna launcher the client, click that. What I believe is that it will launch all the background processes needed, if you check with htop you see multiple ea executables running while launching the single launcher.exe does not do that

Does anyone know how this works with updates? I've had mine installed using this method since November but everytime it needs an update I have to download it using the app (which works), then manually extract, copy and paste over the old EA Desktop app (by extracting the EA Destager folder). Not sure what I'm doing wrong but when I have added the game to Steam I can't install it. It's the same with the Ubisoft app. Also the Target folder doesn't have an option to Browse. Set to experimental btw and on the latest update for Steam.
