How to Install the Fabtech/Dirt Logic 3" Lift Kit - Ram Rebel

In this video I install the 3" uniball lift kit from Fabtech. This kit utilizes their 2.5" Dirt Logic adjustable coilovers, Fabtech uniball upper control arms, and 2.5" rear shocks.
Overall this kit was super easy to install. Aside form having to cut my old shock off the truck, it was very much a turn key install.
My final measurements are as follow (taken from center of hub to fender flare edge):
Front Drivers: 24.5"
Front Pass.: 24.75"
Rear Drivers: 25"
Rear Pass.: 25.25"
Overall rake: 1/2"
As mentioned in the video, here are the important torque specs:
UCA bolts to frame: 160 ft-lbs
Uniball top bolt: 106 ft-lbs
Uniball to knuckle: 120 ft-lbs
Upper coilover bolts: 49 ft-lbs
Lower coilover bolt: 93 ft-lbs
Tie rod end: 35 ft-lbs
Sway bar end links: 56 ft-lbs

Awesome video. I have one question 🙋🏻‍♂️. I’m guessing that at 3” the front CV’s are pretty stretched. Do you need to install the spacers for the front differential drop? Or, do the CV’s look okay? Also, Corrosion X is way better than PB Blaster. Corrosion X is spray it and forget it. I use it for salt water applications on my boat trailer. That and LPS 3 is pretty good too, you can use either as an undercoating. 😂

It is sometimes difficult to see on videos, so I was wondering if your lift created a noticable difference. I love the truck, I have the exact truck. I ordered a 3.5" lift with 295/70R18 and was just wondering what to expect after my install. Any input would be appreciated. Thanks again for all of the great content.

This video is definitely going to help me out this weekend. But if I remembered right isn’t the rear wheel well opening bigger? This is why Carli and other kits measure the bottom pinch weld on the rams.

Yep you can measure from where ever you want as long as the angles are appealing to you. I just took measurements at the fender corners out of simplicity. I bought a spanner wrench and used the pinch welds to ensure my truck was level side to side

@@WaterFowler41 Very cool. I just have a standard ram 1500. But I bought the BDS 2in Performance Kit and ordered the Carli Rear springs and endlinks. Running 18s and 295 70s. I will say I took a look at the 18s and the ram stock 18, that caliper is close but it clears.

If you had around 1 3/4” of lift before and got an additional 1 1/4” from the fabtech kit, wouldnt that be closer to 3” over stock which comes out to 4” total without a diff drop? Makes me curious about CV angles.

Angles are a-ok. I threw the truck in 4wd to see if I could hear any moaning but nothing. I’m going to keep an eye on them, when I was picking the kit, I confirmed with fabtech cv’s wouldn’t be an issue and they reassured me so here we are!

Those wheels are 18x9 - 1 mm.

Just curious if you ever had the 5100’s set at position #6 on your Ram? I am about to install 5100’s on a 2022 Laramie and want to use #6. This will give me a 2in lift/level. Just want to make sure that it won’t be to preloaded. I’ve been told it doesn’t but haven’t found anyone that has used position#6. Thanks for any info you may have on this.

Bilstein doesn’t advise on running any position higher than 5 on ram trucks with the ORP kit.

Hey man, great stuff. I am looking to do a level on my 20 Rebel. I cant afford this fabtech kit and am considering the bilstein 5100's with a .5" spacer and upper control arms, or a ready lift 2" level. Did you get a better ride quality out of the bilstein setup? Did you have any issues with the rubbing on the spring anymore?

How much lift do I get if I install rebel rear coils on my longhorn. Currently have 5100s with front rebel coils on my non orp 2020!longhorn Justin I don’t compress the stock springs much.

If you install the rebel rear coils, the rear will go up about 1”

Do you feel this kit is soft? I have this same kit on my bighorn and sometimes when I hit bumps it feels like it floats.

Maybe a tad at first but the UCAs had to break in. Those uniballs are very stiff from the factory and need some time to wear in.

@@WaterFowler41 I am having some issues with mine. It sits level but it rocks when I stop. Almost wondering if I either a need longer coil springs in the back or torque down the front coils to factory rake. To my knowledge per the description it should sit like stock.

Whats the difference between these and the reservoir kit.

Reservoir is going to provide even more cooling for the damper oil. The coilovers are already 2.5” so the non-resi is great for most applications but the Resi is for those who really want to throw a lot at the shocks without worrying about shock fade. They look awesome but are overkill for my application.

haven't towed much more than a single jet ski trailer short distances so can't really opine. If i was towing heavy stuff, you bet I would have rear air springs to help with load management.
