The O2 sensor remains in the forward section of exhaust. We did not remove it. Back pressure is not governed b y any sensor on the exhaust.

I just purchased and installed the this pipe from TST (looks great!), didn't remove the servo or the cables and my engine light came on. I did throw the bike up my stands and ran through a couple gears at very low RPMs. Any ideas or advice?

Technically you can run a bike on straight pipes without causing any damage to your engine components. This will require a proper tune to make sure you don't lean out the air/fuel mixture. However, I do not think you would be happy with the sound of that bike with straight pipes. It is very loud, and sounds just too raspy. We can offer you the 3/4 exhaust by Toce instead. It will eliminate the cat box, add a glass packed muffler, and has a bung to screw your O2 sensor into. I think you would be much happier with that solution.

NomNomNom Yes, you can do a power commander or any other piggyback fuel computer. You can also go the route of re-flashing your OEM computer with FTECU. That is what we use on our shop race bike Yamahas. This system unlocks your ECU's a/f ratio, ignition timing, throttle mapping, exup valve t/f, and a lot of other settings that cannot be controlled by a piggyback computer.

Being that this is simply a slip-on exhaust a tune or ECU flash is not needed unless you were hoping to see a possible difference in performance. If you are wanting to remove the catalytic converter or replace your OEM headers we would definitely recommend getting a full tune or ECU flash.

I have seen guys zip tie them and they don't complain. In theory it shouldn't affect anything but I recommend making that decision yourself. Removing them is pretty easy so maybe you will reconsider.

You don't want to do that. Your EXUP valve will no longer move and you will lose the functionality it provides.

You basically created a straight pipe. I don't understand your question...it looks like a statement but then has a question mark. If you've put together a frankenstein type of component arrangement there is no guarantee that parts will fit with each other. I would say ditch all those parts and get a properly designed and built full exhaust like your R6 deserves.

@@TSTindustries I bought it with after market headers and a mid pipe. The toce muffler lines up with the hanger on the rearsets no problem but if I try to put stock muffler on, the hanger on the muffler doesn't line up with hanger on the rearsets. Is this cause of the midpipe? It's just redicuslously loud and I'm trying to quiet it without changing to much

The cables connect a servo actuator to a valve inside the stock exhaust that comes off with the muffler. The ecu controls the opening and closing of this valve for several purposes. When the exhaust is replaced there is no need for the servo or the cables, but most guys retain the servo to not throw codes on the dash.

We do not have a midpipe for this model. Sorry. We have built race R6's for our race t3eam and we typically use Yoshimura full exhausts on those builds. We have them in stock if you are interested.

It's basically the shape of the canister/outlet. If you take a look at a Razor Tip type exhaust you will see that there is a main cylindrical canister that has an inlet from the header. There is a glass packed baffle inside there. Aft of the cylindrical part there is an angled member welded in that then has two sections of tube welded onto it after they have been slash cut. Those are your outlets.

No. We subsequently reflashed the ECU on this bike using FTECU.

I literally just walked in from the mailbox and opened up the box and then saw this. We are on the same side. . I got my integrated tailight, fixed low fender eliminatior, universal liscense plate light and TST flasher relay!!! It's Art from Connecticut. I was only asking because I know that in many cases Red can be pretty severe. Anyway, I was just asking. I have to go now. I have an integrated taillight to install on my FZ09. Red sucks if you put a whole lot in, and at some point you have to remove the screws. If you do use red and sometime down the line have to remove the fasteners make sure they are nice and hot, and they will release.

Doesn't mean their exhaust are for performance. Any test or graphs showing the gains cause have never heard anybody or even seen on their website where they talk about the performance gains of adding their exhaust. Only the unique sound and the attention it draws.

The 2017 does in fact have an EXUP valve system. The valve itself is in the pipe leading into the exhaust canister, and the servo actuator is under the tank. You can install a Toce slipon on the bike but you will have to at least disconnect the actuation cables from the valve on the exhaust. We recommend removing the cables altogether, but that involves having to get into where the servo is. If you want to remove the servo off the bike completely you will have to purchase a servo eliminator type device, or flash the ecu to remove that functionality and its error codes from the system.

+David White The Toce exhaust model for the pre-2006 R6 looks much different. It is not a shorty in the belly. It is the length of the stock unit with a dual slash cut can.

Not really. Some guys decide to leave them on. You just have to realize that they do articulate with the motion of the servo so you have to affix them to a suitable component on the frame so the cable ends don't snag on anything. Definitely keep them away from any rear brake component.

This does not readily fit a 2001 R6. If you intend to use it on that bike I think it will be a bunch of work. In addition, the 07+ model has a catalytic converter that muffles most of the noise, and this slipon just directs the flow of the exhaust at an angle away from the bike. On the 01 you will not have that muffling because if you remove the stock exhaust there isn't a catalytic converter left. This will basically give you straight pipes of improper length for that bike. I would advise you to steer clear of doing this modification.

Generally, a re-tune is dependent on the modifications made to your bike upon installation. In this case, you do not need a re-tune.

+Blueberry Muffin If you were installing a full exhaust system then you would need to install a power commander and get a proper tune. The catalytic converter on this bike is very restrictive from the factory so changing just the muffler with a slip on system isn't going to do much power wise or fueling wise. It will not run rich with this system because the cat will still be in place and you are not changing the fueling (which is only possible with a ecu flash or a tune using a power commander).

A code only appears if the servo motor is removed/disconnected. Removing the cables alone will not affect anything.

There is no provisions for a dB killer in this exhaust. It does mount on the stock header that has the catalytic converter. It really isn't all that loud.

+TheGentlemansLife They connect the servo motor to the EXUP valve and actuate that valve. The bike is designed that way to quiet the bike down at low RPMs and also to increase exhaust back pressure at low RPMs to help the motor build more torque down low. With an exhaust change the EXUP valve is removed so there is no need for those cables.

TheGentlemansLife EJK is a tuning device, much like power commander, and Bazzaz FI units. It does not control back pressure in your exhaust. It allows you to tune the fuel injection system to supplement the right amount of fuel to the engine. Even so, just installing that unit will not yield any performance benefits. You have to get a good dyno tune to see results. For this particular exhaust a fuel injection tune is not absolutely necessary. However, a good tune will get your torque curve smooth and get you some performance gains. If you are looking for more performance we would get you into one of our Arrow full kits along with a BMC racing air filter. Then doing an FI controller along with a good dyno tune would get you some noticeable performance gains.

+Renz Jefferson Perez That screw was used to hold the clamp for the servo cables in place. We removed the cables which took the clamp away with it, so that screw would not have anything to screw into at that point. Therefore it was not needed anymore.

Raghav Sharma the OEM canister has a valve in it that is actuated by the servo through the cables. Once you remove the stock canister the valve is gone so no need for the servo. If you disconnect the service the computer throws a error code so most guys just remove the cables and keep servo plugged in. You can remove the servo through the use of a servo buddy type device, or through flashing the ECU to remove that function if you want to go that far.
