How to Install Toyota 4Runner Bug Deflector (5th Gen)

Here's how to install the OEM bug deflector / hood deflector on your 5th Gen Toyota 4runner. This should work for 2010 - 2022 models.
I recently purchased a bug deflector for my 2016 4Runner from the Toyota dealership but it didn't come with any instructions. This is how I installed mine, I hope it helps you.

Nice video that's for sharing! Looks like what you got was an older version the of Air Deflector for your 4Runner. The one I purchased from a local Toyota dealership for my 2023 TRD ORP is totally different. There are no push pins on the top in fact the top has no holes. I received 4 outer and 4 inner clips (that look similar to you your inner clips) that are marked I for inner and O for outer. The Air Deflector actually screws into the clips, actually nicer looking that the one (like yours) with push pins to hold the Air Deflector to the clips. I've only seen one other video of the the newest OEM Air Deflector and not sure it was installed correctly.

I’m pretty sure this is the new version, it is made for my20 and up. Safety sense camera won’t hinder performance with the deflector being too far up.

I don't think that is the OEM deflector (PT427-89100). They probably sold you an aftermarket accessory. The One I installed has 8 brackets and the exterior (Top Portion) of the deflector was clean (No push pins). Also, the OEM one says toyota on the corner of the deflector.

What's the part number for this deflector? it looks different then pt427-89100 hood protector.
