A jig for offsetting the railing from the edge of the post would be handy especially if you have many to install. It’s also encouraging to realize you can find good help.

Great video. Just bought same railing, but not installed yet. Question - do you find railing sturdy post install? No 1/8 spacer needed between rails and post? I'll be looking for your installation of stair railing of this product next. Lol

I have purchased the rail kit, and am intending to follow the 6 foot clear span in the directions. I see some contradictions due to a 4x4 nominal post being 3.5 inches then add the post sleeve at 4.5 inches. If the span is measured using the un sleeved post, when you add the sleeve you are going to add 1/2 inch on each side of the span si span reduced to 71 inches. The rail measures from the box at 72 1/4 inch. It looks like these are to be trimmed before installing the rail. I dont see that in the video instructions. Please clarify.

What if the post is too wide for the sleeve? How should I go about getting the sleeve on?

How tall do the posts need to be? The railing is 36" and you are allowing 3 3/4" under the railing. How much on top?

I am installing several of these kits. The screws for attaching to bracket to the rail and the wood screws for attaching the bracket to the post are painted black. Are these painted stainless steel screws? If not why not use stainless, as several of the approved screws for attaching decking are stainless and only approved screws comply with the Trex warranty. Thanks

What should the post height be above the decking?

I had those railings installed and when I walk on the deck the railing / banister make a rattling noise. Is that normal?

The 3 3/4 spacer dimension makes the top rail 36.25. is that going to be a code problem? What are the code tolerances?

It would have been helpful to add which is the top and which is the bottom rail. Am i missing a marking or clarity about this? The booklet also says to drill 4 weep holes at the bottom. Did anyone else do that?

Have been searching everywhere to find out if there are specific brackets when installing the horizontal railing (not stair railing) that has a section with a 22˚ angle. I am thinking the standard horizontal brackets would not mount correctly and stick out beyond the railing, especially on the bottom railing. Does anyone have experience with this?

This is great if you have good length. We just installed 4ft sections and it was a nightmare. We had to cut down the brackets so they didn't block the railing hole. Was definitely NOT as easy as they make it look. The black scratches up soooo easily too. Would not recommend.

What if I don't have those center post?

I think your video is interesting. But it doesn't actually follow the instructions as they are written. The instructions say to lay the top and bottom rails on a clean surface and install the spindles with the rail laying horizontal. Then bind the top and bottom together using a ratchet strap. That works much easier and doesn't require 2 people. There is a simple equation to find the "post to spindle gap" on both ends. You just measure the space between two posts and plug that number into the equation. That's much easier than eyeballing it. Also... you can see in the video that the post sleeve moves a bit. In order to prevent it from changing locations after it's been measured, I found that a couple of shims at the top and bottom help keep it in place. I found some rail kits where the first spindle hole was 3 5/8 from the end on either the top or bottom rail, but 3 3/4 on the other -- they don't match. I found that a piece of tubing fit snugly into the spindle hole allowing them to be aligned perfectly so when I make the cuts, I do it based on rails that are perfectly aligned. But, I came to your channel because I'm working on the stair rail now. The instructions for the bottom rail are easy to follow and have resulted in a nice looking bottom rail. But the instructions for measuring and cutting the top rail to match the bottom rail seem rather wonky. Since you're cutting at an angle, you can't align them and cut them together. So... I am looking forward to seeing your stair rail video.
