Use velcro. You can get it at any dollar store and that way you can take it off and put it back on with ease if you wash it or need to take it off and put it back on for whatever reason! I know it is an old post but I hope it helps.

The decel pop will go away with the FP3 and using the autotune. (or find someone who is really good at tuning and do it manually) The FP3 has a ton of tuning options. You can change the map on your computer anytime. The FP3 will keep the original tune on the bike that is there when installed. Meaning, it will remember the one that is currently on there, but not the original factory map as the dealer already got rid of it. I have V&H pipes and an S&S air cleaner on a 2017 Dyna. The dealer installed it all and flashed a basic map for me. (I didn't want to break something on a brand new bike) I then autotuned to get rid of the decel popping. Not sure why they told you it will void the warranty, my dealer told me it would not. Probably only to sell you the unit and charge you the basic tune, which is a basic mao and no way to actually tune it . You can do a lot with the FP3, but everyone has their own views of the different units. I like mine.

So, if I'm reading correct, the screaming eagle tuning is not as good as the FP3?

Did you buy the actual tuner (the black box for $250) ? Or did they just upload a canned tune? The Screaming Eagle tuner allows you to upload tunes, but they are still canned, meaning they are not as adjustable as the FP3. The FP3 can be run from your phone and can alter just about everything in your ignition. Check out some videos on it's capabilities. A canned tune from the dealer is just an update to the computer to run air cleaner and exhaust mod, like a stage 1 update, nothing more. I did talk to a dealer and he said non-epa exhaust, air cleaner and tuner will void the warranty. My tech was incorrect apparently. So, you have to use H-D parts and tuner to keep the warranty. However, you will be paying a lot for parts that have no real tuning to them. Very limited as the Screaming Eagle tuner needs to stay EPA compliant.

nobama the one service manager is a friend of mine, and he actually recommended a different tuner, not the Screaming Eagle, the way it was explained to me is the FP3 doesn’t reprogram your ECM, but constantly overrides it which causes the problem. I’ve been riding Harley’s for 30 years and like I said I’ve had a FP3 on my 13’ and never had a problem. But with the new computer system on the Harley’s they know when anything has been changed and it’s recorded in the ECM like a black box, that was the big issue for me, not willing to void my warranty right now. I’m just putting it out there so guys know they’re losing their warranty once that’s installed

68Guitarhero how would it keep over overriding the computer if it removes the tune off of your bike and then uploads the tune from the fp3 to the computer. Why are you able to disconnect the fp3 and run around. Your friend doesn't make any sense.

nobama like I said, I had one and it worked fine, you’re free to choose what you want. My friend has been a service tech for years, they’ve never tried to steer me away from any aftermarket product for my bike, and he didn’t say the FP3 was bad just that they’ve had a lot of ECM’s fried that have used it. The more concerning thing to me was that the warranty is void once you put it on the bike, I’ve got too much money tied up in my bike to void my warranty. I only posted that so guys buying new bikes would be aware that If you have a engine problem under warranty Harley can run a diagnostic on the engine and know what you’ve done and the FP3 will void that warranty
