While this is a great alternative to the wire I actually enjoy having my phone charge while it’s plugged in. Usually when I work Uber it never dies on me as long as I work but I can see why you wanted the wireless option. It’s way more aesthetically pleasing. Thanks again for a great video and a possible new upgrade!

Yeah your right especially when you are working from your car, and need to charge your phone. But I really like this because of the no cable and much cleaner looking!

@@BrandonStellmach with this you probably dont have to make a hole in the glove box. everything could stay hidden with the wires. Can you connect wirelessly more than one phone?

@@ammess2033 now that I have wireless CarPlay, you definitely would not need to drill a hold in the glove box! And yeah you can connect more than one phone, it would just auto connect to what ever phone is in the Bluetooth range.

@@ammess2033 Multiple mobile phones can be connected, but not at the same time. When connecting to a new mobile phone, need clear previous connection records, or the adapter will automatically connect to the previous phone! the automatic connection speed is very fast, within 15 seconds~I LIKE IT!

Been running the same exact setup on my 2010 Rolla LE since watching your video about a year ago. I have the cheaper Carplay dongle that you recommended in a older video of yours. I'm wondering if this BT dongle gets rid of the Carplay audio delay that my cheap one has! Thank you soo much for the Corolla series man! I love my Rolla and your recommended upgrades have nade me love it twice as much. Anytime someone says that they drive a 5th gen corolla I let them know about the Android head unit thx to you!

That’s awesome to see you have been getting some good ideas from my videos! But adding this would not help the delay. I think the delay is just because it’s a lower end head unit. Only way to fix it would be getting a newer and better unit! But this is nice because now I don’t have to worry about any cables!

Yes I believe carlink sells a dongle that gives you CarPlay and wireless all in one. Just search it on Amazon and you should be able to find one.

Are you using your phones wifi through blue tooth in order to play your music? Because I have an after market android head unit for my Nissan Juke but I’m having trouble tethering in order to connect my phones wifi to my unit. Will the dongle help in this situation?

This is only connecting through Bluetooth, this will not help you get better wifi connection, this is only for getting wireless CarPlay.

So I have CarPlay built in on my aftermarket head unit. Do I still need the auto kit dongle in order to use CarPlay with that adapter?

If the unit comes with it built in. You do not need the dongle anymore!

I have a base model corolla. I was actually impressed that in 2009 cars are still being made with crank windows! Now at least I don’t have to worry about them breaking! 😂

I’ve got a similar unit installed in my 2010 RAV4, when I plug the Bluetooth dongle in, the APK kit doesn’t recognize that it’s been plugged in despite the device lighting up. Any way to get past this issue?

It seems that the radio itself is not recognizing it. Maybe try a different USB plug. If this doesn't work, it may be a faulty unit.

Bruh!!! I don't carplay or android auto build in my car. But it got touchscreen stereo. What can i do? And if i buy that gadget. Would it be ok, it nissan pathfinder 2020

This would not work, you need an android radio because you are going to need to download the app, which I don’t think the stock touchscreen will allow that.

The link is to a very similar unit, the one I have you can’t buy anymore, the link is to the same unit it’s just sold by a different company.

Whenever I plug the Otto into the apk, the apk would die. Hmm. Not sure what seems to be the issue.

That’s very weird. Maybe try to see if the APK needs an update? Or try to just reinstall it onto the radio. I Haven’t had that problem before!

@@BrandonStellmach decided to just go with the wire, it did end up working but would glitch out or have a hard time connecting, plus I also enjoy the charging of my phone while plugged in Edit: I’m running the wire through the air vent (didn’t want to drill a hole) - only works because of soft materials on end of the tube of the vents

@@hopefulzennial9493 glad you got something to work. I know these can be very finicky some times. But having it plugged in always seemed faster to me then the wireless!

As soon as I connect wireless dongle to CarPlay dongle the light turns off

That is very strange, I have never had that problem. If this is a problem, it might be a faulty unit. I would try and contact the company and see if they have any fixes for this. Or a replacement.

When it says please insert product, it’s looking for the CarPlay adapter, try to unplug both of them and then try to plug the CarPlay dongle first. And then it should pop up saying insert phone. And that’s when you will plug the wireless adapter into it.
