In this DIY I will show you step-by-step how to install pressure treated wood timbers as a border around your landscape.

Tools:
Drill, impact driver, 5/8" wood paddle drill bit, level, skill saw, chop saw, hand saw, tape measure, square, shovel, saw horses

Just finished my mothers garden and admittedly I wouldve been lost without this video! It looks awesome! Shes happy and everyone is impressed and she gets another 3-4" of dirt in her garden. Cheers!!!!

Thanks for sharing this! I like your attention to detail but not overly concerned because it's landscaping. I feel less pressure now to go start mine and it doesn't have to look perfect for the neighbors prying eyes. Lol Kind regards

I appreciate you sharing your work. It really helps. Consider using clamps to hold the ties on your bench to make a vertical Skilsaw cut. Also, wear safety glasses... you never know when something wants to snap back.

Use to angle joints ans screw but today I will do the overlap notch, plus only 1 anchor spike needed and maybe 2 screws

Looks great! Would you recommend driving rebar through the timber to keep it from moving, or is it pretty secure just by the weight?

That was my original plan but as long as you have a solid base to lay it down on you shouldn’t need rebar. It’s very stable and hasn’t moved at all. Mounting that second layer on top really helps keep it in place.

Looks really good. _However,_ holding that rounded edge like with a bare hand made me pucker. And, safety glasses... sunglasses.. anything. Just lookin out.

I'm surprised you didn't use stakes to anchor the wood to the ground... and then add rocks or wood chips to make it look like an actual landscaping bed. lol

The weight of the Timbers hold it in place. I couldn’t move it if I tried. Stakes would be overkill and just isn’t needed. We have added mulch since. :)
