How to install the August Smart Keypad which isa keyless front door lock where you input a code and your door automatically opens with the August smart deadbolt. Can you setup multiple codes so you can give somebody (dog walker, cleaner etc) a different code. I’d like to know when somebody enters and locks the door without having the august app?

Ha, ha. I just locked myself out of my house today. The frustrating thing is that I had the Smart Keypad already, but it was sitting on my desk, as I hadn't installed it yet. And I stepped outside without my phone or key, of course. Fortunately, I was able to borrow my neighbor's phone to call my ex, who has a key to my place.

You sir. Are adorable... Can you create custom pins and delete them from anywhere on the fly? Say, if I owned a vacation home in Miami and a friend sailed in from Monaco, but I just happened to be in the Hamptons for the weekend. Could I text him a code I made just for him, then delete that unique pin as soon as he left? If so, is there a limit to how many pins that can be stored?

yes: - Either invite the guest using their contact or add them manually with their mobile phone number - Confirm type of access (Always / Recurring / Temporary)*, Entry Code, and toggle Text Code to Guest if you want them to receive the code over SMS - Then select SAVE CODE - If you selected the option to text the code to your guest, your messages app will open up with a message that includes your guests code - Send the text for them to receive it support.august.com/how-do-i-send-my-guest-a-personal-entry-code-ry71w8J0_M

Yes. You can set up pins with specific day and time use . If you have a dog walker who only needs access on Tuesdays between 2:00 and 3:00, you set up the code and time for that and it doesn't work otherwise. You can also change and delete codes as you need to. You can use a convenient code that is easy for them to remember. You also can check and see that they've come and at what time. Pretty cool.

Does anyone know how can I get a notification when somenone is trying random passwords through the August Keypad? Like a failed attempt notification...

If you've linked the Smart Keypad with your August Lock, it will send you a notification automatically whenever any keypad code attempts were successfully (or unsuccessfully) employed.

Neither your video nor the August setup tells you how to setup your own code after you use the code they give you when initially setting up. You would think that is the first thing one would want to do after trying it out.
