Hey, I'm using a fragment instead of a second activity. But I'm running into an issue where when I press the google button, it doesn't work and the toast from the catch is displayed. Also I manually logged in with a non-google account on my app and when I try to access the fragment, it just takes me back to the login screen. Is this not possible with the use of fragments?

That API is obsolete, you should use the newer BeginSignInRequest instead. The older API lacks a lot of features.

This method does not work on android versions up to version 13 for some reason. Tried it on versions 4, 5, 7. It doesn't work on any of them.

Why does it not allow to choose an existing account ??? This app makes it mandatory to create a new account or We have to sign in through a mail id which is not present present on that device Why is it like that ?

the fact that a method is deprecated does not mean that it stops working, you can check android developers to see how sould be done now firebase.google.com/docs/auth/android/google-signin#java

@@defifire9980 Deprecated methods simply mean, they'll stop working sometime in the near future. So don't risk compromising your entire app for the sake of using deprecated methods, find the right way & use that. 🙂
