Thanks for the tip! Teflon tape gets eaten by gas. Can't use it there. I use a sealant that comes in a tube for that, forget what it's called.

@@ModelA Permatex Form-A-Gasket Sealant Liquid #80019 is great for gasoline fittings. Be sure to clean the threads on the sealant can (lacquer thinner) or the lid (with dauber assembly) threads will seal really well to the neck of the can and you'll have to torture the lid to get it open next time. Hi DM. That is an oil pressure gauge. You have to have the hood up and your face in the right spot to read it. It was on the motor when I bought it, and somewhat useful since this is a full pressure motor.

I didn't recognize the county name, so I did a search and was surprised to learn it's in California. I thought the terrain in your videos looked somewhat central and just east of the Rockies. I'm in Connecticut so not real familiar with out west except for some time in SoCal. When I pulled out from the map view it appears that there isn't much of anything to your east for a couple of hundred miles. And I think according to a night time map I once saw that you're probably within a few hundred miles (into Nevada) of being in one of the darkest places in the lower 48 for the best night time views of the sky. I'd forgotten to mention my amusement when you referenced identifying car drippings by taste--like the Car Wizard. I follow him too and knew exactly what you meant. Paul, I so appreciate your kindness in answering each of my questions. I'm concerned about writing too much and wearing on you. I think you're better than that, you have honesty, wholesomeness, and I'm certain integrity as well. I'm a pretty good judge of character and I think you're a good man. You bring more to the videos than I think you realize. Part of that is, you're real and you have a kind and decent demeanor that comes forth in your videos. Further, your way-of-being is comforting. I don't want to be stressed-out by watching hyper people screaming about anything, and particularly hateful politically motivated people like on the news, those constantly telling us that everything about our country has something wrong with it, and unless one falls into certain groups, it's all the fault of other groups. I don't want to be told that. I want to listen to guys like you saying things like, take a look at this, look at what we accomplished by the late 1920's, and look at how amazing that is. I don't want to hear from rotten creeps working to bend our country into something different because they say so. It sickens me that there are so many big university graduates and under graduates that hate our country and everything about it that came prior to them, or prior to activism in the Vietnam era, talking like experts when they weren't even there because they weren't born yet. Or, they were there in the Viet Nam era activism but still holding a candle for change. How disgusting. Something else you need to know about what you bring in your videos is that over the years I've read commenter's saying things like "I was so depressed, then youtube emailed that you just released a new video, so now I know it going to be a great day" I've also read "I was contemplating suicide but your video... and I know that would have been a mistake because things are going to turn out right". And I've read others comments like these that people had been grateful for a video or the channel because it helped them get though a very bad time. So Paul, you might never know who you're helping, not everyone is as vocal as I am, and still other people might be too ashamed of what they're experiencing to write and thank you for the difference that you make. But they're out there. For myself, I've been doing the stay-at-home mandate for almost a year now. We even still have to have groceries delivered. I have someone in the house that's at high-risk / low survival expectation were they to get the COVID. The only time I get out of the house is for the absolute must-do's, or if I take a drive and not get out of my car other than for gasoline. I'm tired of living this. But your videos have help a lot with that. And when I catch up on watch later videos, I'm going to binge watch all of yours. Why is it so important that I've written all this? In part, it's good for you to know that you make a positive difference in the lives of others. Another reason is that some people that comments can range from being cranky to thoughtless to insulting to awful to hateful. I see all of these things regularly in my youtube viewing. And I think after a while of reading from these commenter's the person with the channel can feel defeated and like they're not making the difference that they had intended on. And I'm sure some of the people behind the channel decide to give up because it's not worth the effort. Your videos always deserve a thumbs up, and none of your videos that I've watched have ever deserved a bad comment. So it's important because I don't want you to give up, and I'm sure a lot of people don't want you to give up either. I'm not saying in any way that you're delicate or that you can't take it. I'm just saying that any of us can be worn down. Thank you very much for the effort you put in to bring us your videos. And may God Bless You and Yours. Yes. Just for the spots. I buy it by the 5-gallon bucket for my work. Then I use an industrial cleaner with a different mop for the overall cleaning.

Someone put a bolt in there for some reason. To get inside there, you need to either pull the motor or the rear end and trans. When it's time for a new clutch, worry about it then.

Hello, CR! two things required for combustion- 1. Proper fuel/air mixture 2. Properly timed spark Check to see if you are getting fuel. Use a 9/16 wrench and remove the 9/16 boot from the bottom of your Zenith carburetor. Turn the gas valve on and observe. Gas should gush out of the float valve and the bowl should be full. If so, reassemble. Next, check for spark. If your Model A is timed properly, and you have spark, it should run. See the "How to start a Ford Model A" for the procedure, just in case.

Way back when Mac's was invented I ordered from them and Snyders. So far with my new Model A, I've used Mac's which is no longer owned by Mac's. The service has been fast and prices about normal. I discovered that I can no longer afford to build a Model A.

Likely combustion gasses and pressure getting into the water jacket under load. Fairly common. Solution is usually to torque head or replace head gasket. Might possibly be warped head or block deck, but that's rare.

The motometers are made of pot metal. Not an easy repair. Much easier to replace. What fuel line issue are you having? Won't go on? Leaks?

@@ModelA well that is the thing, the moto meter itself is perfect. The part the motometer attaches too itself broke off with the motometer. I think I figured out the fuel line, I bought one from Burts but it seems a little to big going from the sediment to carb. The previous person tried installing a in line filter and used rubber clamps to piece it together and it leaks constantly.
