I'm so glad I came across your channel Mr Gordon. The videos are so informative and very much helpful. I'm definitely going to put all these strategies in mind during my next interviews. For me, I'm going to focus on subject management expertise and scenario based questions,,, I think I mostly struggle on those.

Great video. I imagine you are one heckuva boss. I'm trying to find a position as a social studies teacher. It is daunting. It seems like we are a dime a dozen. Your videos are helpful. I'll let you know if I land a gig for next autumn. I should mention that I am teaching high school geometry right now with an emergency contract at a small rural district. I don't have a math license. I didn't know geometry when the principal and super pretty much begged me to do it (they knew me from a LT sub job I did in the school library). But I needed a job after being passed over for gigs in my discipline and was willing to study geometry ahead of the students. I've exceeded expectations (according to these gentlemen, my PLT, and the students) and the admin would love to have me back. But they must open the position to licensed candidates. I Do you think that my willingness to teach a subject that I did not know (and perform well) is going to stand out to potential employers? How do I convey this background to them? Thank you, again, for your guidance in these videos.

Absolutely!!! You have 100% gotta convey your current work to a prospective principal or interview panel. Your willingness to take risks and work outside of your comfort area is an asset and will be valuable to other school sites and districts. The best way to convey it is to tell the stories of success you and your students experienced this year. Weave it into a personal story as a powerful way to connect with the interview panel. I have an episode in using personal stories in your interview that I will put in a comment after this one. Best of luck and please keep me posted.

For the subject expertise ars the going to ask questions sbout a certain topic in ur field of study or how can you show subject experiences

You ask a good question. In my experience, when I ask a candidate about their subject matter expertise, they question is framed in a way that lets the candidate share their expertise through a scenario or hypothetical situation. I, and most other HR professionals stay away from technical questions about a field of study. There is an assumption that if you are credentialed in a subject matter (mathematics for example) that you have expertise and now I want you to share with me how you choose to apply that expertise in the interview. Hope this helps.
