I live in Cuenca Ecuador. We don't say hola as it's too informal although we do sometimes say "buenas". We also do not say tú because it is too familiar. We only use it to family members or extremely close friends. Also, not the tú form of the verbs. Also, we don't use vosotros in Latin America. Still as long as someone knows this, your information can definitely be used directly or adapted as needed. Thanks for what you do. I love your videos.

Greetings from Dublin lreland philip and Grainne here,that Grace in english.Grainne is Irish.Been trying to learn this since the covid.When were in Benidorm in 2018,had an accident, spanish would have come in very handy. Especially in the hospital,so we said we try and give it a go for fun,and learn phrases. So can put it to the test in January of 2024,when we get back.

Hello, I notice you pronounced años with the “s” sound instead of “sh” sound. Does Castilian allow for both pronunciation or am I missing something?

¡Hola! I've never heard anybody pronounce an -s like -sh, from Spain or from Latin America. Where did you hear that? In Spanish S is always pronounced as S 😄

@@holamydailyspanish I just saw your reply now. The “sh” sound for the “s” is something I learned from the Castilian-teaching channel in YT called Spanish Made Easy by Sugar Astronaut. Therefore, I thought all words with an “s” was pronounced with a “sh” or subtle “sh” sound. It starts in duration 1:52 if you want to see what I’m referring to. Is it just that there are minor dialects of Castilian where people in Spain pronounce it like this, as opposed to the mainstream pronunciation of Castilian in Spain?
