Journaling has helped me so much! I am a power journaler lol. I go really deep and probe my mind when I write. I’ll pen 4, 5, or 6 pages. It’s so cleansing and therapeutic. It helps me to process things, to organize my thoughts. I essentially become my own therapist through journaling. I’m a big time advocate of the practice.

@Alexandra Hi hun, I’m sorry I didn’t get an alert of your question and just saw it. I just write about what’s on my mind. What’s bothering me and why it’s bothering me... what my hopes and dreams are and if there’s something stopping me from being able to achieve those things... I try to identify particularly unhelpful/negative thoughts and remind myself of the good and helpful things to think about. I write about what I learned in therapy as well and how to apply it to my life. I hope that helps.

I have been journaling to manage my anxiety. I feel it helps but I need to keep in hand tools to remember myself to self regulate. Sometimes as I write my anxiety spirals down to heavier, destructive and painful thoughts and leaves me feeling exhausted. I now journal a bit as usual, expressing my thoughts but after a page I go back to some CBT worksheets my therapist provided to analyze my feelings and thoughts and build a path to a more calmed state. That combination is perfect for me and it helps me to have a record of all my mental patterns for me to check later to discuss with my therapist. Thanks so much for the video!

How does one know they have anxiety? Or anxiety that so bad, they need to journal or get a therapist?
@glassanddiaphane3 жыл бұрын
@@Nugget66696 If you have access to a mental health professional the best is to have a consultation first, they can diagnose what mental health issues you might be dealing with and how to proceed. If your thoughts are disrupting normal activities or you are experiencing destructive thoughts you need help from a mental health professional as soon as possible. Journaling is helful as a tool to explore some things we might be dealing with that we want to keep private, or that are difficult to process, it helps to be more aware of our thoughts and feelings but by itself is not a miracle cure, and you need to learn how to use it for mental health purposes, your therapist can guide you in this regard.

I use the Passion Planner where you can time block so I’ll block off one 30-min block just for journaling. This was a long time ago. I used to journal what I was feeling when I was a kid. Long story short, my sisters told me how mad they were on what I wrote about them. They were mean to me. When I told our mom, they got in trouble for reading my diary, while I was told how I shouldn’t say mean things about them. After that, I stopped writing in my diary, because I was afraid that even if I hid it well, they will still find it, and read through it again. We’re adults now, but it because of me not writing how I was feeling practically made me become an emotional wreck. I’m thinking about going back to writing in my new diary I got a few years ago. I really need this. Edit - I’m doing well in keeping my emotions in check at work, it’s just when I’m home and I have all of these negative thoughts going through my mind, then I let it out.

I just finished my first journal entry, I really need to start worrying more about my mental health. I stopped writing because I haven’t written anything in a long time and my hand was hurting.

I have done written, audio and video journals, since age 15 to my present 79th year. God help us from these evil demons, and I thank you. Use the audio voice apps and the recorder on your laptop etc. Thank you so much..
