@@_Antonioisgod not necessarily. Ecu is used for electrical management, includint lights, meters, etc. Im pretty sure the engine management will use the 2jz's ecu. So u dont need to reflash it. Unless you want the speed limiter off. Altho getting it modded, thats kinda tricky one. Reflashing both and getting them right is no joke. If i were the mechanic, id stay off that for warranty purposes.

Taylor Chase if youre looking to make 600, use the 2jzgte vvti with dual turbo; ive heard different things with the tranny, some say to use the 154r, but ive heard a VQ G35 6 speed manual tranny is better in the end (and cheaper) and they sell a kit to make it compatible with the 2jz for relatively cheap 🤘🤘

Valentino Ramsaransing depends on how much knowledge you have on wiring. I am working on doing a swap on mine for me, it's costing me 12-15k. I am getting someone to build me a mounting plate so I would still be able to use my rx8 trans with my 2jz so I wouldn't have to mess with the drivetrain So far. It is looking like it's going to work. I did a measuring without the trans housing on and it's almost a direct fit. But if you do decide to go with the 2jz engine. It should only cost you I say 8-9k

Koehnia how am I wrong? Engine itself is 5k and tranny about the same. Unless you find a deal with both on one set price. Seen a few for the low for 8500 for the set but still an arm and a leg for it. The 2jz and the ls motors are still the most expensive motor to buy. There’s a module in the dash that you need for the computer to read. Without it. Car won’t fire. That’s 200 New/Used ecu is from 200-400 bucks. Mounts for engine/tranny 3,500 bucks You would have to fabricate the fuel pump on the car to work with the plug that’s on the 2jz harness which wouldn’t cost but maybe a 5 bucks. Lol

You do realize the stock the rx8 transmission is junk. Wouldn't last a day with any power above 300hp. You have to also change to an fc gearbox. Not to mention the 13b-rew doesn't bolt up to the the engine mounts of the renisis. I was going to upgrade to a turbo but it can be very pricey. changing to a 1jz is an amazing upgrade. They sound amazing and are so cheap on parts and reliability is insane.
