After seeing this video the first time, I did the jelly fish in watercolor and ink, minus the masking fluid. We just made an out of state move from Florida after 20 years there, to Virginia. I still have boxes up to my eyeballs and can't find all my supplies. It still came out beautifully, so tonight I went out and got some canvases and will be trying a tryptic using everything but the kitchen sink! Can't wait!!

I have found Jelly Roll pens to be inconsistent; very disappointing. Good ones are Signa White Gel pens.

I would use a used bar of dove soap, you know when it’s all small and hard to hold on to, to dip my brush on with a little water. It allowed the brush to be cleaned easily. I also used a dedicated brush.

I think gel pens work better if you’re not left handed. I’m a lefty and never was able to use a gel pen for more than a letter or two before it stopped rolling. Maybe it’s the way the ball is situated inside the pen that goes between on one side than the other. Lol thank you for these videos. I was an artist like a 100 years ago but lost myself somewhere. Watching your videos along with my daughter has reminded how much I love and miss it. So now we try and play around with water colors as much as possible. Thank you again so so much!!

After living in Florida for 44 years, I can tell you after several serious cancer surgeries on the top of my head, knee and many other places, I wish now at 70, I had taken better care of myself! I got told that the Daniel Smith masking fluid is designed to work with gravity, so you're not meant to squeeze the bottle.. I'm still to try using it that way as I didn't have the best results the first time I used it with the squeezing method
