"Stop protecting the people in your life from chores"!!!! That one. I'm always making excuses for my kid, but I'm not doing future them (or current me) any favors by doing that. I've also got a couple of hang nails nagging on me that I need to work on asap. Thank you 😊

Watched this video for help, so many helpful tips. Earlier I mentioned to my husband that I was all of us to wash our own clothes, dry, fold and put anyway. I'm tired of being the maid to my husband and 16 year old son. I work for a living so we have 3 options... 1) help me 2) I can quit my job and they can come home to a sparkling house and hone cooked meals 7 days a week 3) we bring someone in 1x a wk to help me. I'm tired of being tired and tired of my days off being robbed of happiness, rest and self care by being the housekeeper because I was born with a vagina. We all know it's true. It's up to me to do it all, or it won't be done... and guess whose fault that will be... mine!!!

I feel you… one of the reasons I’m single. I had an ex that argued with me that I liked my home clean. My place, not his. I don’t think I’m ever getting married or having kids. I had to temporarily move in with family because my dept was let go, and every time I do the dishes, it’s like I never did the. Dishes come from the room and back into the sink. I stopped doing them and they left them in there for over 9 days. It’s like it’s hard for them to wash a spoon. When I got here last month. Sink was full of dishes, nothing cooked. I’m very domesticated and I learned healthy habits as a child. Always arguing with my sister about messing up my room, now her children do it and she passed. They can live around filth. Because they way her do it and their grandmother so they built up a tolerance for it. I’m not the maid. I stopped cleaning and cooking. Even with my friends I come over they expect me to help them do chores after I traveled so far, so I stopped coming over. I can’t wait to get my own place again. It’s depressing and makes me unhappy. I like to wake up to a clean kitchen. I can’t living with two females. It’s like how hard is it to wash a spoon or pot after you are done. I always clean as I cook. No one knows I was even in there. My ex boyfriend expected ,ex to do his laundry, I had to check the hamper before I begin. It was like having a child. I bought a storage unit and put his grown as out my place. He quit his job, turned in his car and lost his place to try and live off me. Never buying groceries, nothing. The guy I dated before him, we had the same clean love language lol. He did everything and we both kept the house clean. Mainly me because he worked so much but I didn’t have to do much but clean up after myself. The first time I came over it was clean and everything was organized and put away. Bonnie is saying things have to be perfect but leaving a mess for days, no, I’m not here for it. As hard as it is for me, I just clean up after myself and try to not look at their mess. And stay in my room. But I’m counting the days until I can leave and be in my own place again. I know women who make sure they look put together but their home is a mess and they are proud of it. Proud they don’t cook or do laundry. Care more about their hair and eyelashes. I love a minimalist home. I hope it works out for you. I recall when my mom was here, she did everything on top of that being abused by a man who didn’t work and he abused all of us and treated us like slaves while he sat on his ass and collected government money off of us and we barely had clothing or food or anything. Worst childhood ever. Imagine trying to raise a family with nothing except what my grandmother gave her, 20 a week to feed a family of 7 and wic and he kept all the welfare and SSI and everything for himself and bought drugs. And tried to feed other people too. Kept us in poverty until she got a way. I refused to have a man have me struggle and try to live off me because I’m domestic.

When I clean my home, I do it in silence! NO RADIO! NO I-TUNES! NO CD's! and NO TV! When I clean house, I turn music and TV O-F-F! I love to brag about how my strong belief in doing household chores in silence. There are two things I need to do in my head while doing household chores. On of them is CONCE! The other is TRATE! I need to do both of those in my head while cleaning! CONCE AND TRATE! When cleaning, the task at hand is the ONLY THING I NEED TO BE THINKING ABOUT! I need NOT to be thinking about anything else! That's why I'm such a strong believer in cleaning house in SILENCE!!!!!!!! I need to CONCENTRATE SOLEY ON WHAT I'M DOING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

In dating I use this response when I really like the guy, but I actually am not available… I will say “I would love to, but I’m not available on that day, but let me know the next time you want to do this or that in the future cause I really would love to” That’s another way to still let somebody know that you want to say “yes” and it’s not a complete rejection but maybe you just don’t have time for that week. And yes, I have been using the tactic for about the last six months about telling people let me check my planner first and get back with you… Because I do have a planner and if it’s not in there, I will not remember. But it’s also a good way to just not instantly say yes to somebody and then have to retract back later. It’s sort of also set a boundary with that person that you’re not always going to say yes and you reserve the right to actually say no Especially for friends or family, who are so used to you saying yes, all the time therefore they might come to you more every time you say yes to helping them. LOL😁 And even better for me is when someone asks me at least a week in advance, because I like to plan backwards… With almost anything… So if there’s an event I want to go to on a Saturday it’s actually will push me to work more intensely and efficiently during the week so that I can give myself that reward to actually let loose a little bit I noticed very easily that I will actually end up getting MORE work & housework done when I know I have a really amazing reward on a weekend ! Even more, if that reward is having one of my friends, come visit me… That’s another thing that gets me cleaning and organizing the heck out of my apartment Another example is, I am usually cleaning the heck out of my apartment before I leave on a vacation or to go visit family and that’s also another thing that excites me because I know I’m gonna come home to a clean and tidy home. So I think rewards can also work very well for people who find it difficult to stay clean and tidy And I’m pretty clean and tidy myself, but let me tell you… I am still out here watching these, KZfaq videos on minimalism and staying clean and organize because it puts me in the mood to clean and organize… But I also always learn something new ! So thank you for these videos!

Is anybody here also tired of listening to different KZfaqrs on how to keep a house clean bug you live with more people that seems like waiting for you to clean for them to start making a mess or leave things every where and that’s why the house only stay clean overnight because you clean it before going to bed and sometimes that not even work because if they wake up thirsty in the middle the night you’ll find a dirty glass or two out; and you thinking is you and keep looking for ways and tips how to have the house always clean. I think this is the last video I watch about the topic, I only listen to 3 minutes and got to this conclusion. But it’s just probably only happening to my me.😢
