It’s bc your not following through You need to keep you body weight forward and follow with the board

if your board is flying in one direction (either behind or in front of you) then the way you distribute your weight above the board is off. If the board is flying in front of you try leaning more on your body weight on your front foot (it'll be really hard at first but keep at it! you need to build up the muscle to be able to stand in such a weird stance)

@@I_love_Musiccccccc no thats not true if you keep your body weight forward it will fly away from you too. you need to keep your weight centered. don't lean on one side or another side because if you do, it will fly to the opposite side you are leaning on (obviously)

This was happening to me until yesterday, my problem was that I wasn’t bringing my leg back in to land on the board because I’m so fixated on trying to flip the board

Hella late but y'all know yt algorithms n shit doing they own thing Another helpful tip I found years ago when I was learning(33 now) was to try and jump almost a foot backwards if that makes sense because you'll find that the natural motion of the board flipping will carry it backwards from your point of the ollie

sometimes my board doesn’t even flip fully, like I will pop slide my foot up, and the board won’t even flip even let me have a chance to land on the grip tape. It does like a 180 and I land on the bottom of the board, or it either does the full rotation, but it flies so far out in front of me.

@@ale-skate Go to something you can actually grab like a pole or a fence while standing on your board and try to flip. With this its easier for you to know how to do it without having fear of falling. Just pop and flick and shift your body towards a bit. And there ya go

@@akiyuuki183 thanks for the advice man but I don’t have that fear with kickflips. I put my front foot on an angle but when I flick it tends to go straight instead of at the angle I have it at so no flick. I think I’m used to the Ollie motion, any advice on the flick itself?

A lot of people kick literally your supposed to be doing more of an ankle snap fast that’s how you get the quick rotation but everyone throws them different so kind of have to just get out their with the basics and put the time in

Where does yer eyes look ? Do u jump more back or to the side of the board ? Idk dude I have spent 10 months so far on this trick .. got it like 2 times but it keeps either going slightly infront of me or just to the side.. like I need to jump back but more to the side .. don’t know if where I look helps or not .. had the same issue. What i did was that i had to find my center of balance and make sure i was popping correctly. Ever since i find out how to pop my kickflips became more consistent in terms of keeping control of the board. My only issue now is landing them cleanly with both feet on board

@MushyMushroomMeat you might be doing the same thing I used to do. I could flick the prettest flips you'd ever see but my front foot would be falling before my back foot caught the board. Everything you ever read says "you're flicking down" but I wasn't. I watched 1 tutorial and it mentioned something nothing else had before. You have to flick through the board. I was always flicking with the angle of the pop if that makes sense. Flick straight out. Not at an upward angle. Pretend you're kicking someone in the knees not their face.

I learned dolphin flips bro (not even joking) I don’t understand how to flick through the board without it turning on me. I deadass learned dolphin flips, varial heelflips, heelflips, and all the basics but cannot get kickflips to save my life. I’m close for sure I just can’t keep my board straight. I’ve stuck a few backside 90 (not180) and body varial kickflips, so I feel like I kinda get the flick but I’m obviously doing something very very wrong.
