That technique is really good as my FS 650 struggles to start on the starter even with a new battery. I’m starting first kick everytime now. Before I was trying to push through the compression stroke! They have way to much compression for those shenanigans 😅 such cool bikes.

Doesn't it have a choke exactly that you don't need to fiddle around the Carb

I had a 73 open Husky and the first time I tried to start it it almost ruined my ankle from kick back. I figured out how to save my ankle after that. I stood on the left side of the bike, using my right foot, just letting the front of my foot push against the kickstarter, I snapped it down sharply letting my foot slip off the kickstarter. The spin was faster and it usually kicked right off. But I didn't have to worry about kickback as my foot was on the ground by the time the kick came.

I tried on a husaberg 400 fe and it destroyed my ancle and its been 2 years still healing. I fixed the electric start and then sold it. Promised i would never try that again. And now i bought a husaberg 600 wich does not have a electric start that works. So im either gonna need to split engine or watch this video 10 times and go start it by kick. I have a 250 Husqvarna wich is 2 stroke and im not afraid of that so i should be ok, but i need to grow a pair and put on my boots until i have it by muscle memory like you. :) Thanks

Ouch. Yep I did my ankle on a CR500 years ago, didn't set the decomp properly. The idea behind setting to just past TDC is the momentum of the kick +flywheel will push the piston through the power stroke instead of it just kicking back. I'm not going to say it's foolproof but it's the best bet 👍 I never had issues doing this. Remember you can start using your other foot by standing beside the bike.

@@aretardridesmotard6128 i guess my left is good as im used to the 250 but it just scares me because the pain i had for so long time really really was insane. It seems the 600 has a autodecomp so it should be easier but especially holding the Killswitch when cycle is key. I didnt do that....

Step three.. dont ever make an engine with the kickstarter on the left side.. ever again.

My only bike that I’ve ever kickstarted before is a husaberg FS550e, I’ve gotten so used to it being on the left side that I completely failed to kick a Measley little crf250r... the boys had a laugh at me. I’d like to see them kick my berg
@swemx74033 жыл бұрын
@@brendanedwards1416 Yeah. But the left kick starter had to be some sort of a design flaw or something from the beginning, that just got stuck over the years.. cus i mean wtf?! It's so awkward to kick on the left side. I can kick a Honda cr250r from 1994, a Yamaha yz426f from 2002. A Damn Suzuki DR600 from 1985. But i cant kick a Husaberg thx to the fucking awkward position of the kick starter. (Btw i've owned everyone of those bikes plus more so i know).
@brendanedwards14163 жыл бұрын
@@swemx7403 it’s on the left because of the drivetrain components that are on the right. You’ll also notice the sprockets and chain and shit are on the opposite side too. You’ll never see a bike with the chain and Kickstarter on the same side
@swemx74033 жыл бұрын
@@brendanedwards1416 You're wrong. Yamaha yz125 1981. My friend has one and it has the kickstarter and the chain on the same side. Look it up for yourself if you dont believe me or just watch my youtube video when he rides it. EDIT: 1983 Yamaha yz125 has that too. And yz125 1982, yz125 1980. So ''You'll never see a bike with the chain and kickstarter on the same side'' thats bullshit x'D
