Definitely going to try this. I actually killed the commander my first time, but then his two allies got there almost immediately after and killed my whole party.

you can also use one of the larger chests you find (gelatinous I think?) to block the corridor the cambions come in at and they are effectively cut off from battle since they can't destroy it. kill general, kill flayer, profit

Use 2 chests to be safe. I have even seen the cambions fly over 2 perfectly placed chests which they can do even if you put them in the narrowest part of corridor if they happen to be far back enough. As far as i can tell you can't stack anything higher on them so it's rng whether they do it. Mostly they will fail and try to attack the chests.

Still worked for me earlier today, so it's not entirely patched. I used all 3 big chests and then put the little locked one from Shadowheart's room to patch up a hole and the cambions spent the whole fight doing no damage to it

unless bless was a factor in my %, on tactician its also 55% for command on the Commander. nice video!

oh perhaps it's the same regardless of difficulty then. I was judging based on the attack chance, where it is a good 5-10% chance lower on tactician to hit. Glad you liked the vid!

THhs doesn't work for me. When I select Shadowheart and press K I don't see the options to change spells, I only see a stats screen and nothing to edit. She doesn't have the Command Spell enabled. This is on the early access version on Mac, so is this something they only added in the full game?

they added it fairly late into the early access version, But i just checked and it is still possible in the full game. you might just have an old version of early access. That or maybe the keybinds changed in that time. check your settings and see if there is a keybind for spells

When I go into Shadowheart's inventory she doesn't have the command spell, do I have to get it from somewhere first?

On Tactician difficulty Zhalk has 195 HP instead of 150 and is much harder to do damage against. The Mind Flayer with "Us" is barely able to get him under 50% HP. You won't be killing him, but you can still get him to drop the sword and this idea buys you much needed time.

Best to let the Devil get a couple of hits in first to reduce Illithid's hit points before disarming him. Wait until Illithid stuns the Devil before attempting the disarm command, the percentage chance of success climbs to something like 80%. You can use the 4 (1 by Shadowheart pod and 3 in this room) pink glowing objects as you would powder barrels to inflict significant damage on devil and illithid commander, just be sure to keep party out of range.

Well I have only been able to kill him like three times and most of the times he make short work of the Mind Flayer since that Mind Flayer keeps on missing and once those Cambions show up they will bypass the Mind Flayer and go after my characters. Just get the sword and don't worry about killing him. You get to level two once you hit the beach.

yeah the mind flayer is 2 levels below the commander so he tends to miss his hits a lot, but the Cambions shouldnt bypass him if you are far back enough. If I get some good RNG i'll usually send my people (not us) to stand bascially right beside the transponder and use ranged attacks.

Buff/heal the mind flayer. There's 3 purple vial looking things. Pick them up and place them around Zhalk. Don't walk passed him so you don't trigger the mobs in the back, I waited til he had 50 health left and blew 'em up with a fire bolt. Loot the corpse, dash to the console.

"Easily and risk free!"? Took me 2 hours of quicksaving and reloading to do it like in the video (get both bosses killed to get exp). Dropped sword worked immediately though. Also chances are not "40%" or "25%" like it says on the attacks.. they are more like 5%, hence the reloading. Was the same when I put the game in the easy mode. One wonders if I'm just so unlucky. Not the game for me I guess.

Do you mean the little Intellect Devourer? You can find him pretty early on. There's a room with a elevator in the center and by going up the elevator pad you see a guy lying in a chair with his brain exposed. If you manage to get the brain out (STR or DEX check I believe) it transforms into "Us". If you also manage to keep Us alive, you will even be able to find him later on in Act 2.

like @DanakarEndeel said "us" is the little brain thing that can help you through the tutorial mission as long as you can pass a dex/strength check. it is possible to cripple him to lower his stats but I would not recommend it.

the command spell takes up a spell slot, so if you heal before the fight you should have two chances to use it during the fight. If both miss then you might just have to re-load

Mindflayer turns on you only if u kill the last minion. Not the boss ;) ... I killed them all on tactician mode like this .. just by letting last enemy live so mindflayer can help me with all devils :)

he attacks the closest enemy(or rng target) tried on tactican as well he onetaped my champ when the bosss is dead

@@darkbatu I have done it before (in early access) but I had to save/load the game every turn and get like 10 crits in a row. It's doable sure but the rewards are not worth the effort in my opinion.

This wasn't on tactician, wasn't it? Because when I play it, commander Z wins the fight easily and attacks me. Even without his sword.

I recorded this on regular difficulty. But I've done it many time on tactician. for tactician you just need more luck on crits/misses. It also helps to give the mindflayer a potion of haste if you have one or a shield of faith.

You can win the fight on tactican easily without any special tactics. The only thing you need to do is "safe-scum" the RNG out of the fight. By that I mean quick safe after every sucessful hit, quick load after any miss. Done.

you can place the chests from the rooms u were before to block incoming demons or agro everything and blow them

I showed how to kill him more easily by removing his weapon, which reduces a significant amount of RNG involved. Seems pretty accurate to me.
