The only thing more nerdy than knitting 3 pair of socks in a week is sitting here watching someone else do it. Like almost on the edge of my seat with only the tiniest bit of my brain to wonder how hard it would be to find vampire diaries....❤❤❤❤❤

You will never know how much I needed to hear you today. I have been beating up myself for wanting to spend time knitting instead of things I think NEED to be done. I’m almost 80 and I say screw it, I’m knitting today..the world will have to wait

Almost 80? I think you've likely racked up years of doing things that (might) need doing instead of hobbies by that age, so you've definitely got at least a few days of "vacation time" for knitting! _Especially_ if you're a parent, pretty sure that means you're due at least a couple solid years of hobby time!

You are really fun! I’m a 67 year woman. Married 48 years. Two children and 4 grandchildren. My knitting has been interrupted over the years from surgeries. 6 shoulder surgeries (3 each side). , elbow surgery, 7 hand/wrist/finger surgeries. I had really serious surgery in November that took 6 months to heal. I about to Kitchener the toe on the second sock of a pair I started since my surgery. I am so excited . Then I get to cast on a sock for daughter.i am so happy. I love your podcasts. Ijusy found you and you are delightful.

Just learned to make classic vanilla socks (cuff down basic gusset heel) last Aug ‘23. I’m on my 15th pair of socks. I only make vanilla socks (with the exception of a scrappy sock) so this video is really helpfull ! Thanks for the video and ideas ! I can’t stop making socks- great travel project. I was taught to make socks by a lovely 82 year old lady using bamboo double pointed needles from a Clark and Coates vintage pattern from the 40’s-50’s. Never goes out of style !

First, for us introverts of the world, Amazon has great t-shirts… knitting t-shirts, plant t-shirts, band t-shirts, you name it, it can be found. Have a look… much easier to venturing out to the strip mall. Also, braces as an adult, gotta say you’re a tough girl. It was horrible as a teen. I can’t imagine your pain. And lastly, I love your color choices! They make me smile as much as your bright personality. Thanks so much for the inspiration. ❤

Relating so hard to so much of this video. Watching while knitting a plain sweater sleeve cuz I want to get it done before the weather gets too warm to wear sweaters! And also my last clothing purchase was a grey tee and two white tees from Eddie Bauer. I’m a relatively new fan of your channel. I’m an experienced crocheter just now learning to knit and soaking in all your sock wisdom. (Working on a basic sweater first.) This is my fave episode so far! Besides the motivation to dive into sock knitting, I could relate to soooo much here. I’m also an introvert who volunteered for school events and then dreaded them. One trip ended with me being the only adult in the back of a bus full of hormone laden middle schoolers just waiting for me to doze off so they could start their shenanigans. I was wide awake the entire 4 hour drive till we arrived home at 3 am. Also, I just got my adult braces off in February after 3 years. Those first few weeks were so weird and PAINFUL. I couldn’t imagine eating anything harder than oatmeal ever again, but it gets better and things like eating sandwiches with a knife and fork or swishing out the crumbs with your drink quickly become normal. It was absolutely worth it. Congrats on taking plunge. 😁 Thank you for sharing your knowledge, experience, and knitting in real life.

I ordered your book, and wow, the photography is gorgeous. Colors are so vivid. And while thumbing thru, I found instructions for a sock heel, that worked with the number of cast ones that I had. I bought the book, Poor Thing after watching a little blurb on the movie, skimmed a few pages and my thought was, do I really want to read this…I’m not sure about watching the movie, but reading books sometimes, is worse than the movie, well depending one’s imagination, mind happens to work overtime. I couldn’t sleep for weeks, maybe months after reading, Steven kings, It.

This was a lot of fun to watch! Another idea i love to do is change color for every step. Like cast on in one color, cuff in the next, leg in another and also for every step of the heel do a different color and bind off in another color. Also this mixed with different typed of heels makes really amazing socks
