Hi Suzanne, I love your video's, your explanations are amazing. I hope you can help me with a question. I made a sweater recently and it had LLI and RLI as the raglan increases. In pattern it said "RLI, k1, sm, k1, LLI. However, with the LLI, should I make the increase in the k1? Because I felt it was askew around the eyelets when I made it the first time (so I did sm, k1 and then I made the LLI in the stitch of the one after the k1. I hope I am explaining it well.. Anyway, thank you so much for the amazing work you do.

try on a swatch - change the LLI to M1L, and change the RLI to M1R, also try it in reverse. Also try reversing the order of the lifted increases. I often switch out the type of increase from a pattern because I know what I prefer. Swatching is your friend.

My pattern is saying to do this but from 2 rows below? Is this considered 2 rows below? To me it’s one row below? I’ve always know this as a left leaning invisible stitch so my pattern directions have thrown me for a loop. Any help would be greatly appreciated as I’m getting close to this point in my pattern. Thx!

When you make a LLI, you are working with the stitch on the RH needle. So it is 2 rows down. If you were to make the increase one row down, it would be in the same stitch that you just knitted into and it will not work. Try it. Thanks for the great question and happy knitting.

Do you do this increase instead of a traditional knit front to back increase? I struggle with it with Continental.
@SuzanneBryan
@SuzanneBryan 3 жыл бұрын
There are several increases. M1, Lifted, kfb, yo, etc. Each one has plusses and minuses. I choose the one that I think will look the best for the circumstance. It is good to know them all. I have a playlist of increases - kzfaq.info/sun/PLLKJ9GuhEEwmlfj9PqW088TJBo3n4Un1W

It is not about where the yarn is coming from, but what you are doing with the needles. Try to look at it that way. Sorry for any confusion,

This is wrong. The other video shows you need to lift 2 stitches below. Not the stitch you just worked.

I wondered about that too - maybe this is a simpler increase and the one two below is to create a raglan sleeve???
