I find using a very small crochet hook is much easier to use to pick up the gusset stitches. I pick up a stitch using the crochet hook and then put the stitch on my knitting needle. for me this is much easier and faster.

Your tutorials are great! I've been crocheting for years and have always been way more comfortable with crochet than with knitting. Decided to challenge myself and try to knit socks for the first time - I did not think that I would get there! The first one is done now, the second one in the making. Your explanations and the pattern are super helpful and easy to understand. Thank you so much :)

I'm so grateful to you. I made a second sock with this heel and all thanks to you. I'm a beginner and still exploring different types of heels. For the other socks - I've made shadow wrap short row heel and I absolutely love how it looks but even though I made sure I was doing everything correctly I just couldn't get it to fit my or my husband's heels, they were always too big and deep. BUT with your great tutorial even the test heel was a great fit. I absolutely love how it is shaped and how it fits and feels. Thank you for absolutely amazing and understandable tutorial which helped me so much! Also, love the colors 💖 subscribing! 💞

Questions...SSK = slip one as if to knit, slip another one as if to knit, pass the stiches from the right needle to the left, insert the left-hand needle through the front of both slipped stitches from left to right, knit the two slipped stitches together through the back loop. What you are doing in the video is k2tog for both sides. For ssk you are slipping them purl wise and the passing them back to left needle which results in the sticked being the same as they were before and then you knit the together, that is k2tog, not skk. So my questions is are doing k2tog for both sides or the real SSK and them k2tog

I had to unpick my stitches as it didn’t seem right SSK, I watched the tutorial again and realised that she was slipping back to the left needle therefore basically k2tog. I have myself in a pickle. I am not a knitter and this is my first attempt. Just started the heel decreases and I realise that I seem to be knitting on the 'wrong side' the inside of the sock now has the wavy lines and the outside the V. I have certainly done something wrong - unpicking it doesn't feel like an option but can I correct it on the next row? I am currently doing a row 2.

I love this pattern and video tutorials. I would like to make an editing suggestion for the Gusset, however. Maybe it’s me - but when I started the Gusset decreases I didn’t do the K2TOG in the right place because the marker is placed at the end of the top of the foot. Suggest to place a second marker at the beginning of round/beginning of the top of the foot in the written pattern itself. Had to watch the video to figure out what I did wrong. Now tinking back a few rows…

I am loving these! Quick question, though. When you do the SSK decrease, are you slipping purl wise with yarn in the back, slipping the two slipped stitches back to the left needle, and them knitting them together?
@aynashaa
@aynashaa 3 жыл бұрын
I had the same question. It will help to watch a video just on ssk. The purpose of slipping them onto the needle then placing them back on the other one is to turn the stitches the correct way. As counter productive as it looks it turns the little loops so you can knit them together properly. Hope this helps!! Also it’s probably too late anyway but oh well lol

Hi! So in your pattern you have needle sizes 1, 1.5 and 2 for usual sock needles. I couldn't find size 1 so I bought size 2. My gauge is too big now, 32.5. All i see online is going down a needle size.... What do I do?? Go down a sock size (from medium to small)? Or cast on different number, return the No.2 and get No. 1 needle? Hahaha Thanks!!

Summer, on the heel turn portion, it looks like you are doing SSK by slipping two consecutive stitches purlwise and then knitting through the front. Is that the way you do SSK? I have seen it slip two consecutive stitches as if to knit and then knit through the back loop. Does it do the same thing?

I’m confused by this too, I’ve even slowed down the video. It looks like she slips purlwise and then puts them back on the left needle the same way which seems pointless to me because when you do that you don’t twist the stitches so it’s essentially the same as a k2tog?

I don’t know about anyone else but when I get close to the end of a round, (three stitches from the end), I knit two together, then knit one. When I’m at the beginning of a round, I will knit one, slip slip knit-wise and then knit those two slipped stitches together through the back of the needle. It works for me! :-)

For your ssk there’s something that I can’t figure out and is…you slip the two stitches from the left needle to the right the same way that you slip them back to the left and then you knit them together. Sorry no one answered you. I don’t know if it’ll help now but her book says to ssk. So slip the stitches knit wise then knit them together. Must have been a video error she didn’t catch.
