I think that most younger knitters use magic loop or a smaller circular needle and might find it hard to follow what you are doing on double pointed needles. I learn to knit years ago and knitting off and on until the pandemic, but I always hated DPN‘s and I always avoided knitting socks, mittens etc. When I discovered magic loop that changed everything for me. I have done some lace but very basic.

I’ve tried and got frustrated because it looked a mess while I was working but now I’ve been told this is normal and the lace only looks good after being blocked? Idk, this project gives me hope to try again. As soon as I finish all the upcoming birthday and Christmas requests! 🥵

that is a great little project for autumn and I love the pattern and the lovely colour of the wool. I have been knitting for decades and have done plenty of lace knitting but I never knew about slipping the stitch from the back. They say 'never too old to learn'. Thanks once again for helping me to improve my knitting Arne. xx

I like lace knitting but I get frustrated because I easily get lost in the pattern and forget where I am. I use stitch markets and the pattern is on a magnetic bottom but I still can't get it right; and frogging lace can get very messy. But I keep trying. I will try your wrist pattern for practice. Thanks as always for your vids.

I love to watch you two together, especially during stitch tutorials! Arne, you "know" but when Carlos is talking to you, we learn more about the 'how', and today I learned more about the 'why'.. I recently finished a scarf for my sister. It included a wee bit of lace stitching. As I completed the stitches, I chanted the pattern and method of the stitches like Carlos and realized today I was slipping them like Arne! Thank you both so very much!!

I've been knitting 65 years, and still learning. Two tips: for every decrease you generally need an increase unless you are shaping, and I use the removable see through tape to keep track of which row I am working. The slip from the back is a neat trick! I always love your videos.

Most patterns would say slip the stitch purlwise, that is as if to purl, rather then from left to right, because in fact you are entering the stitch from right to left.

Arne and Carlos, I have never understood how to do the written instructions of: "slip 1, knit 1, Pass Slipped Stitch Over" until now. Whenever I saw a pattern with that instruction, I would skip that pattern. If I could clearly see in the picture that the direction of the chain was different than the direction produced by "knit 2 together" I had a very complicated way of taking the 2 stitches off the needle changing their direction, and knitting them together. Obviously, I only knit patterns that only required "yarn over, knit 2 together" because the other was too time consuming. Thank you!

❤that Arne said you could make a sweater like this, the possibilities are endless, a column of lace on socks, a bit of lace on gloves, down the sleeves on a plain sweater… so if you insert lace in a stockinette or garter stitch garment can you just use the same needles? Will the lace section pooch out or be tighter, or is that totally controlled by your knitting tension and practice?

The purpose of your video is to teach how to knit lace, but we could think that wristwarmers are useless other than a cute piece of clothing, but NO. I have knitted a pair a few years ago that goes over the cuffs of my winter coat and over the cuffs of my mittens when I shovel away snow. It prevents the snow from entering the hand and the wrist! Or used to prevent the wrists to be cold, as "wristwarmers" during colder temperature.
