Thank you! I bought a new box of laminating pouches at a thrift store and didn't realize until I got home that the were for use with a laminating machine. I told my husband I was going to google how to laminate with an iron! I knew there had to be a way. Thanks again! And next time I will be sure to see if I am picking up "no heat required" laminating sheets!!!

Thank you for this video! I read a blog post about this called pintrest lamination with an irom epic fail. I wasted 3 laminating pockets trying to do it another way. Then I saw your video and this has worked like a charm for me. Thank you!

Greetings I use the hottest setting. The pillowcase prevents the laminate sheet from sticking to the iron. Make sure you don't let it stay in one area for too long.

Thanks. Used this to rescue some laminates that had been chewed up by my laminator. Still not great but a vast improvement on what I originally had! :)

I saw a laminating machine in a store for £20 (Around $30 US). I thought, "Wouldn't this work with an iron?" I bought a pack of 30 pouches for £2.99. Then I searched online and found your video!

Have you tried trimming it right to the edge? Im curious as to if it would come undone. I heard if you laminate it again this prevents it from falling apart but I wanted to know before I try it, since the person who suggested that uses a machine, not ironing..
@RebirthofMe
@RebirthofMe 7 жыл бұрын
As long as the laminate sheet is completely sealed, you can trim off the excess. You'll be able to see air bubbles as they look more translucent and I would suggest going over that area before trimming. If it's clear from end to end, then trimming should be completely fine.

I need to laminate 10 mil, and I've heard that my iron should be at 250 degrees F. What fabric setting should I use to get it that hot?

If you ironed the paper with 2 pcs. wax paper, after that, does it become thick or should i say hard ? Well, Not that soft?

Put the iron on your hottest setting. When you run the iron over the pillow case or alternate fabric, lift it and check the pouch for adhesion.
@leefiles

Also, I rarely iron anything. Would that be a very low heat setting?

Can you laminate cardboard like this?
@RebirthofMe
@RebirthofMe 9 жыл бұрын
HappyBillMore99 It depends on the thickness of the cardboard. I've laminated cardboard that was 7mm thick and it came out ok. I used 5 mil laminate sheets . You just have to let the iron sit for a little longer to ensure they get enough heat.

Will this work for 10 mil thickness pouches?
@RebirthofMe
@RebirthofMe 8 жыл бұрын
+TTCC (Tu Tu-lle Cute Creations) I use 5 mil so I'm not sure. I'd do a test run with one. You may have to turn to max heat snd let it sit a little longer.

I've ironed laminate a few years ago. I kept getting all these ugly bubbles everywhere.
@RebirthofMe
@RebirthofMe 7 жыл бұрын
I would recommend using 5 mil or higher for smoother fusing. 3 mil tends to bubble because it's so thin.
@leefiles
@leefiles 7 жыл бұрын
that's probably it. I don't know the thickness, but its pretty thin. thanks.
