The self-reference effect: we remember everything better when it’s related to us.
Whenever you encounter a new word, try to see how it relates to you, how you can incorporate that in your life.

Flashcards and how to use them
Don’t write a translation of words on your flashcards, write their explanations. The study I talked about: onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/a... The results of this research showed that the group of people translating the words helped people learn more words faster, but using the words in real-world contexts is more difficult for them:
Don’t write down every new word. Only write down words that relate to you. Write down words that strongly affect your understanding of a book.
Write down words that you see multiple times and still don’t understand.

Hi,Marina. Hope this comment finds you well. We all are struggling with this problem but today you give such reliable and realistic ways to memorize vocabulary. Please make videos on vocabulary with phrases that are used frequently. Learning with phrases is more effective, I believe. Take love from Bangladesh.

Your smile and your style are always amazing. I will try words that I can use in my life. It is not always easy to find the really important words in a book. It is much heavier to find it in a show or movie. I struggle for years with them. My children are much better at this because she not only had to learn Russian, like me. Unfortunately, also in Russian, I forgot almost every word within 50 years. Thank You for your effort to teach people English.

I really like this channel linguamarina and I have watched some videos because its easy to understand altjough I'm just study with memorizing words every day with my dictionary. Its look like very old way, but in my small town its harf to find someone who can speak English even no one. Now I can memorize many words and try to combine from one words yo another words and also I always watcing and listening English from KZfaq to practice of listening and learn how to make prhases.
