Angle, i love your videos! Not only do you speak flawless english but it's clear you've done your homework. You have an impressive arsenal of strategies and techniques of language acquisition and one can see you're invested in teaching people how to learn your mother language proficiently. I like that you have an open mind to even consider whether it's possible to learn french while you sleep with a targeted audio track. Your enthusiasm is inspiring! Keep up the great work.

For me, yes. Long before KZfaq in 1987 I listened to French radio CKTF FM with headphones while I slept as a teenage girl. My pronunciation became very natural and I learned a lot of technical words , ads, and French song lyrics. Yes, I think an absolute beginner may not really benefit from French while sleeping. But I learn. Not in a factual way but in a dormant subconscious way. The word order became drilled into my brain. I just know it without analyzing it. But French needs to be learned in a variety of ways. I appreciate you monsieur Angèle Prétot. Merci

Yes. The double benefit is music is pleasant so the French becomes even more deeply reinforced. But we must also speak.

Great video! In my case I have to highlight the fourth step, practicing. I think I've been passive learning :/ Thank you so much Angel for your pieces of advice!

Welcome 🙂 Happy it's helpful. And yes, practicing is often the "magic key" that unlocks your ability to speak French. If you've been passive learning, it's not bad, and what you've learned is not lost, it's just somewhere in your brain waiting for you to practice with it. Good luck. 🙂

Well I'm glad you landed here :) We have a lot of useful tips on this channel. Unfortunately it's frequent for school to cancel French classes. It's nice that your teacher decided to open one up anyway. Good luck with learning :)

J'adore le lion! Quel est son nom? I always leave the TV on to sleep, and sometimes i leave on a French program. I don't know if it helps, but it can't hurt!
@frenchfluency
@frenchfluency 4 жыл бұрын
Definitely can't hurt - although the fact of having a TV in your room isn't recommended by sleep experts (that's a completely different topic though). Fun fact about the lion: It didn't have a name for the first couple of years (I got it in my 30s just because I like how it looks). But then it started to have a life of its own, as I noticed that other people liked it too. When it's in a pic on social media, it improves the engagement rate (a truth recently proved again by the good performance of this video 🙂), so I tend to use it for different purposes. It's on my dating profile too, and definitely helps getting matches. But once a person I recently matched with asked the lion's name. It didn't have one so I had to quickly come up with something (so I don't look like a heartless stuffed lion exploiter!). I decided to call it "Ikea Berlin" (that's where I got it from). Also decided it's a female cause some lionesses have manes, so why not? So, she's now Ikea Berlin the she-lion.

Decades ago I, (along with my mother-in-law RIP), placed those Ton* R*bb**s ‘subliminal’ tapes about getting things done, under my husband’s side of the bed. We wanted to see if they worked. The next day we were in hysterics, because this yard-work hating man was outside busting his behind in the yard, 🧹& rakin’🍁 When we told him, he was mad at both of us. 🤷🏼‍♀️😂
@frenchfluency

ahah that's brilliant! Thanks for sharing this story. He should have been grateful that you found a way to get him motivated 😉 I've started exploring subliminals for myself, but so far the results seem a bit hit or miss. Mostly they make me tired 😅 but I haven't lost hope of finding a successful way to improve your French in your sleep.
