How to learn the friction zone on a motorcycle

Learning the friction zone on a motorcycle doesn't have to be hard. You should always start learning how to control your motorcycle with your clutch first. Whether you are riding a 2024 Harley Davidson, or a smaller motorcycle learning the clutch control also referred to by many as the friction zone is the best place to start. If you want to be able to make slow speed turns on your motorcycle you must practice slow speed motorcycle exercises. Motorcycle training doesn't have to be a struggle and you don't have to fear damaging your motorcycle when you protect it with motorcycle drop guards. If you want to ride like a pro you have to train like a pro, and the fear of dropping the motorcycle stops the majority of motorcycle riders from gaining their skills needed to ride safely to such places as Sturgis 2024 and other biker rallies around the world.

I'm 75 and have a new ducati nightshift been riding since 1967 but I wish we had videos back then instead of having to learn doing, Love your series keep it up its a great service to the riders of the future who will get to see these videos.

I've been wanting the drop guards for a while now. I have shaft collars at the moment. You posted that code and I ordered them! I look forward to having them to protect my 05 Electraglide Classic when I practice!

Are the police bikes already have taller handle bars. Because Joe’s bike is a police bike and his handle bars are too low? I can tell Joe’s gonna do good in training. I’m gonna start including throttle control in my practices. Love these videos, thank you for making them.

Thank you! His handle bars are just pulled way down. Learn to have total control of your clutchnforst then add proper throttle engagement control. Much easier and later you can add rear brake practice to use as needed. Hope you will subscribe and share!

When he said he was sore at the end I knew exactly what he was talking about. I have a Dyna Low Rider with a cable clutch, and a Street Glide Special with the hydraulic clutch. I don't notice much difference during normal riding, but the hydraulic clutch will get you sore in no time when doing this training!

I’ve been practicing your techniques. Makes a world of difference! Thank you! I am experiencing the sensation of falling because I’m leaning real good now. Any advice to feel more secure in the saddle? I do let the bike fall under me, but geesh, I feel like I’m going to fall off the bike. 🤣🤣🤣

Just practice! Practice tight circles and figure 8's those are key. Practice using your clutch only and add the throttle as i explain it on the video Total Clutch Control Made Easy. Sit high up in the saddle and turn your head while making tight circles and figure 8's.

New rider, bought myself an 02 Vulcan 1500 classic, no tachometer. I don’t know what 1200 RPMs sounds like, or any RPM for that matter. It’s subjective for me, I do listen for sound but my too high or too low is a guess. Wondering if installing a tach is a must have. Thoughts?

when u say total clutch control you mean no throttle, clutch in friction only bike moves on its own rpm

If you engage the clutch fully by pulling the clutch lever all the way, he would no longer be in friction zone, I was taught in msf class to pull clutch in a little where you maintain friction zone , also depends on the bike on how much to pull in the lever, but you learn on day one exactly where the friction zone is on the bike you use for the class.

@@stephenb797lol...my videos are different. But i am working on a video that goes in depth with how i train folks as my training techniques and sessions are different as well. But i assure you they work easily and quickly to help folks make confined space maneuvers easily.
