Thank you. When I was planning the cape wrath hike I could find no info on how to leave the lighthouse and get home so I thought KZfaq needed a video. I'm happy if it's helpful. Cheers.

That’s the first time I’ve watched a Cape Wrath series and saw how to get back , every one gets to the lighthouse and ends their tale . Very informative. I’ve been through Durness a few times on my motorcycle, but next time I will camp there instead of making for further east. Thanks for spending the time bringing your adventure to us .

Thank you John. I thought it about time there was a video about leaving. Maybe this is the first? It was my first time in Durness. I found it friendly safe and sleepy and the camp site is great with some awesome views.

All of the cape wrath fails I've seen on yt are because they tried to do too much too soon / their packs were too heavy or the weather and rain got too much, wet gear etc. We were lucky enough to have 4 weeks to spend in Scotland so I figured even if we only do ten miles a day we will do it. if it rains so bad, we can just pitch up and wait it out and I thought long about light weight gear. We were determined to do it. Not everyone has that amount of holidays saved up. The most important thing I think is to have a positive mind. It's more of a mental thing than a physical thing. I wish you good weather, no blisters and good times on the trail.

I've done that journey twice to start my CWT, but each time in reverse. The thinking was to get the details over with, and to be more confident of a good weather window. I imagine after completing the CWT nothing could upset you.

Thank you for the very informative video. I had often wondered what people had to do [having not completed the trail myself] when they got to Cape Wrath. Looks like a very interesting way to finish the walk off too.

Brilliant idea and another first. Always disappointed that other vloggers show none of this which leaves you wondering how to get away from the lighthouse. Girl Outdoors mentioned that she had to walk back down the trail to get to Kinlochbervie to get a bus away. Thanks for rounding up the best set of vlogs yet on the CWT. Happy hiking both of you.

Thank you Bang. Yes that is a way to get back but I think maybe one would have to spend the night in KInlochbervie as well as busses are so infrequent but I don't know, there is so little information out there. That's why I thought a little film about getting to inverness might help some people. I hope Thailand is shining today.

Awesome Niall and Lisa! Thanks for posting this video. I do believe you are the first to let folks know how to get back to Inverness in detail! The info you provided is great for my planning this year. I hadn't realized that cave was at Durness. Certainly going to give it a look. Now I just need to get fit! Started already and my legs are feeling it lol. If you plan on visiting Seattle area you will always be welcome to stay at my house! Looking forward to you future adventures.

Thank you so much Iain. You might just see us one day. I walk the stepper in the gym to prepare for a hike and do various leg weights. Protein shakes help me recover more quickly. I think you have the best chance to make it Iain, you are training and preparing well by the sound of it. I'll keep an eye out for your video. I enjoyed your skye trail.

Know it well, John the ferry and John the bus.The ferry does not run in high winds, the Kyle of Durness can be forded or there,s a bridge over the river, a long pathless trudge. Kervaig bothy is passed by the bus, used to drop us off, best bothy in Scotland? A long way from Englandshire though, took us 14 hrs of driving!

That's the killer, the journey up there. The joy of pitching your tent at any time without fear of being moved on and not having to rush off in the morning, I never stop appreciating that.

You walked from Cape wrath to Durness ? Fair play. That's a cool way to do it. Next time maybe we'll walk it but the bus was too tempting and the driver was good fun.

@Tubba Travels noooo. Only from the Ferry. Thought the walk on that road would be just horrid. The bus was bad enough. I'm thinking of walking from the ferry to Cape Wrath this year around the coast line and Kervaig bothy.
