this looks excellent! I especially loved how the establishing shot showed the split, the book shot showcased the amber hue, and the last shot cut to mostly blue. Made the whole scene feel really crafted and story driven, just by the lighting cues and how our brains are wired from left to right. Just excellent!

This is a dope video, but just a couple advices, idk if its just my phone but on the first shot the moon light looks too source'y! I'd recommend maybe not use the fresnel or maybe adding a 1/4 diffusion to make it feel more natural! Also in the close up shot id recommended adding some room tone especially to the background to help separate you from the background and to add a different area of interest amd separation. Either way this is a dope video 🙏🙏

Fantastic video! Would it be possible to get an update with details about the lights (brand, model) to learn more about the lux, etc.? Thanks so much! EDIT: Just read the comments and realized that you've already answered this, so came back to say thanks again and repost for anyone who has the same question and wants the lights details in one place (please correct me if I got any of this wrong!): 1. Key through screen right window: Amaran 100 with fresnel and blue gel. 2. Background light on rocks seen through back window: Sokani X60 with fresnel and blue gel. 3. Practical desk lamp fill: bluetooth bulb with adjusted color and brightness. 4. LED light bounced off of 5-in-1 reflector to supplement practical desk lamp: Boling P1. Shot with a 5600K white balance and cooled in post.

@@tuckerkanderson I feel that, I put a "shot on iphone" tag on some of my videos and that really helps, I started a business in my area where I basically get paid to make music videos on a budget and these videos really help because the camera is only one tiny aspect of a great shot, so thank you!

what did you set your white balance to?

I believe it was set to 5600K, but then I cooled it down in post a bit as the shots were looking a bit too warm.

Hey duderino, small question. When using two-tone lighting like this, how do you define a good white balance? What would happen if you hold a color chart or a white card and balance automatically?
@tuckerkanderson
@tuckerkanderson 2 жыл бұрын
Hey! It depends on how you want the image to look! That’s more of a creative decision on if you want it to look warm/cool. As for automatic balance, it depends on the strength of each light, if your tungsten light was stronger, the camera would balance one way, if your cool light was stronger, it would balance the other way.
