[Folding the big reflector] "You cannot imagine how proud I am. I've gone so far in my career". ROLFMAO!!! Haha, that was hilarious! Thanks for the laugh (and the insights), Austin!

This is great to see the use of scrims! I typically shoot interviews indoors but I might be doing my 1st outdoor interview on a marine vessel in a few days which might be outside somewhere on the vessel. I do plan to bring my Apature 600d and softbox just because but now I’m thinking of grabbing that impact scrim! I have the neewer one but agree it’s too small when I have a wide and tight shot. But thanks for really going in depth on these outdoor interview videos!

@@hopeforthefuturesg my pleasure! So glad it was helpful. Let me know how the marine vessel shoot goes and what you do for the setup. Sounds like a cool project!

Been working on documentaries for ultra-mountain running (with vegan runners/events) for 6 years now and I still have so much to learn. Your past couple of videos have been an incredible insight and hopefully my next couple of documentaries can go up a notch, really appreciate you sharing this!

@@austinmeyerfilms yes I know and one of the reasons I follow you then I found out you are documentary film maker and then I found out you are helping others with this cool channel!! :o Trying to specialise in just vegan runners (i've done a few runners and events now) but there is just no backing or sponsorship available. I filmed a vegan guy run around Wales who smashed the previous FKT and no one is interested so I make these films just to try and make the world a little bit better. Be great to have a chat about things as I have a personal project I want to put out next year (an environmental/trail running) documentary.

Thanks for sharing your knowledge. It would be great if you could share how you mic up your subjects when using lav-mics in a run and gun situation. How you avoid cable noise or rubbing noise for example. Thanks again, Johannes

Thanks for the video, neighbor (I live across the Richmond - San Rafael Bridge over in Marin County). I picked up a couple of C Stands a few months back, and then realized that they are WAY too heavy to be lugging around WITHOUT an equipment cart. So I do use a couple of medium-duty spreader stands (one by impact, one by matthews) that I bought used for about $35 each. They both weigh about 7-pounds each (as opposed to the Kupo C-Stands, which are about 22-pounds each with the grip arm) and they are both rated for about 20-pounds capacity. Those spreader stands fit nicely in my "light stand bag," which is actually a Caddy Daddy golf club bag with wheels. The Caddy Daddy works well enough, but then strangers see me with it and want to start talking golf with me... and I don't do golf :( I do suggest that people buy at least ONE C-Stand with a Rocky Mountain Leg though, and just keep it in the car, just in case. I love spreader stands, but having a decent C-Stand will be really helpful if you need to set up a stand on uneven ground )amd they are great for holding five-in-one reflectors). I would just suggest if one DOES buy a C-stand, that they should get a used one from Matthews / Kupo / Avenger that to get a new c-stand from neewer or impact. Should be more dependable in the long term, and the cost is about the same as a new one from a Chinese manufacturer.

Hey neighbor! How are things going? Love this comment and thanks for sharing your process. It's funny because when I bought my first ever C Stand about 4 years ago I had no idea that all of them didn't come with the function of taking off the legs for packing. Turns out I got a Rocky Mountain Leg stand (didn't even know this name until you commented it haha), and I was so disappointed when I went to pack it and the legs didn't come off. If anyone is reading this comment and wants a cstand with detachable legs, go with the Turtle Base! haha. Great idea to keep the rocky mountain in the car and also to buy used. CStands can be expensiveee and going used is the way to go. Thanks again for commenting, and I hope the real estate photography world is treating you well!
