Where you don't need a ground (3-prong),I would also suggest you use SPT-1 or SPT-2 wire and vampire plugs (male and female). They also sell vampire C7 sockets. You can also get E26 (Standard Socket Bulb) adapters to E12 (C7 type bulbs) and vise versa. This would save you a ton of money on the many extension cords. You are correct with LED lighting. I would also suggest a smart plug that has power consumption monitoring. This way you can see the load gradually go up as you add items to it. Keep up the great work!!

Love love love your display. And amazing lighting, obviously. Which leads me to my question. If I’m not lighting huge trees (basically just accent lighting on the house and small decorations), do I want spots or panels? Thanks!!
@IsaacAlexanderDIY
@IsaacAlexanderDIY 9 ай бұрын
That depends, do you want them to be multi colored or simply a soft white light? If you want just soft white light then you need 10w landscape spot light (it’s what I use to light up big props on the video at 6:57) if you want color the. I suggest using the panel LED’s seen at 2:40

Amazing video and display. Two things, converting the flame bulb to a battery pack is easy and cuts down on cords. Another is using motorcycle LED lights on battery packs (one pack will power 6 spotlights) for secondary lights. Van Oakes KZfaq channel covers the motorcycle hack.

Several of the multicolored LEDs you use are 30W. Looking by at other options from your link, these can go up to 80W. Question - Why not use 1-2 60-100+ watt LED with a remote/app instead of 5+ 20w purples to light the trees up? Plus, if you ever get tired of using purple for the trees, you can change the color later. This isn't a criticism, just wondering if you have a reason. I've been working on lighting for my house this year as well so I definitely appreciate videos like this. That's a lot of daisy chaining, but I guess as you said, it's low voltage with LEDs, so it's fine. I'm trying to figure out a way to light up my entire house without blinding my trick-or-treaters. I've tried placing 60w LEDs back 25+ feet from my house but it still catches people in the eyes due to the layout of my house. Frustrating.. Do you have a background in construction?
@IsaacAlexanderDIY
@IsaacAlexanderDIY 9 ай бұрын
The issue is that the pine trees are so tall that we need a lot of light to light it up. LED panels that are 100W or more can be very expensive but these bulbs are $10 apiece and its base is six dollars so it’s just cheaper for me to do it this way. I do have the same issue of blinding people because of how bright the lights are on the front of the house and honestly I haven’t been able to find a good enough way to light up the house without it blinding people people. I’ve never worked in construction or electrical, I’ve just taught myself how to do it over the last few years
