Thanks for the Video! I have coldplay tickets that I'm looking to resale, since I scored floor seats on another day they will be performing. I don't have the option to resale when I go to the sell page, it says that resale for this event is not available. This is strange as a see other seats around mine (200s) and in the 400s level already listed verified resale by other people. My seats are not VIP/platinum, they're just regular 200 level seats. Any idea why I can't resale when others have been able to?

Thanks for this informative video! Two questions just to confirm my understanding, would you be able to just go over event cancellation? And its expected to get paid about 5-10 business days (may be longer depending based on comments) after the sell date or after the event date?
@thumbsuprun
@thumbsuprun 2 жыл бұрын
Event cancellation works fairly straightforward. If your event is cancelled, you’ll be reimbursed for your purchase in a timeframe of about 2 -4 weeks from the exchange. It can be extended if you purchased it directly from Ticketmaster/box office as it also depends on the promoter for returning the funds as well. For sales made on Ticketmaster, you’ll generally be paid out about 1-2 weeks after the event takes place. If you sold tickets and then the event was subsequently cancelled, your sale will be cancelled so you won’t get paid out for that, but then you’ll also receive a refund for your purchase so net 0 in the end

Hello! Thank you for the video. Finally a video that is helpful about selling tickets on Ticketmaster. One question: Once the tickets are sold (that I listed), do I have to transfer them to the buyer, or does the buyer already get the tickets as soon as they purchases them? I sold on Ticketmaster fan resale option. I just want to make to sure to do it before I go on my trip out of country and that is why I sold them in the first place. Thank you in advance.

What if I have a pair of tickets to sell and I don’t want to break up the pair which would decrease the demand for the singular ticket that is remaining if only one ticket sold … is there a way to add that restriction
@moisdawg

Hi Shiraz, great tutorial! I'm currently reselling a couple concert tickets on TM. They're for December, one weekday and one weekend day. However, I noticed I have the option of selling them either in pairs/groups or individually because some seats I bought are next to each other. What info about the show do you think could help me decide which option to go with, for greater chances of selling? I assume it'd be harder to sell 5 tickets altogether, because it's more expensive. 2 ideas I had was checking surrounding seats to see what other sellers are doing and whether they're successful, and considering the section the seats are in. Cheaper seats might have a higher chance of attracting a whole group, while floor seats might see more traffic from individual buyers.
@thumbsuprun
@thumbsuprun Жыл бұрын
Your general logic isn’t wrong, though if you list a pack of 5 tickets together, there should generally be an option to list the tickets in groups so that it can sell tickets either as 2/3 or 1/4, and let the buyers out there decide how they want to attend. Just because you have that large set of tickets together doesn’t mean you need to force it as a set of 5 only, though there are definitely some groups out there who are looking for larger sets and may even consider purchasing 5 seats all together. There’s no wrong way of approaching it though

Thanks for an informative video! Has anyone tried selling tickets on TM and it's still showing up on your account as unsold even after you got an email saying that it was? I was trying to sell 4 tickets and managed to sell 2, almost two weeks ago. Since I haven't sold the last two yet, I was going to lower the selling price but when I looked into my account, it still says I have 4 tickets available for resale. Can buyers back out once they've paid? Or is it not updating because the event hasn't passed yet?
@thumbsuprun
@thumbsuprun 2 жыл бұрын
That’s an odd one! Maybe can contact TM to confirm the seats have actually sold by referencing the sale email and confirmation number you get. It could just be a display issue on the backend where it’s showing the original tickets still even though new barcodes were issued

Hi! When I price my tickets I should include the fees I paid correct? So if the ticket cost is $100, tax is $20 and service fee $14 for a total of $134 per ticket -that is what I paid. I should keep that total cost in mind correct? It's too bad it doesn't list the price you paid so that you can compare it without having to look back to see what was paid. :-)

Yes. Include all fees and charges when tracking your ticket costs. Depending on how many tickets you sell, you really want to track the tax side as your accountant may be able to help you claim some of it back on your taxes 🙌🏽😁

Hi quick question... I currently have a ticket purchased through AXS but they have a +10% cap on how much it can be resold for so I want to resell it on Ticketmaster instead. Do you know how to transfer the ticket from my AXS account to my own Ticketmaster one or is this not possible?
@thumbsuprun
@thumbsuprun 2 жыл бұрын
Tickets from AXS cannot be moved into a Ticketmaster account as they are held on two different platforms. Some events allow 3rd party listings, but you generally need a service to get listings up on Ticketmaster for AXS events. You could look to list the tickets perhaps on Stubhub as mobile transfer tickets

Great tutorial. Quick question. How do we list the sale of our tickets as a group instead of as individual tickets?
@thumbsuprun
@thumbsuprun 8 ай бұрын
Ticketmaster allows you to set the number of tickets sold as a group when going through the split selections. If you have a group of let’s say 8 tickets, you can sell the seats as 2,4,6, or 8 together. If you had an odd number of tickets in the group, you can also again set your sale grouping to be almost any type of split but generally it will never allow you to leave only 1 seat remaining. For GA tickets though it’ll allow any type of split since all GA tickets are equivalent

You will always be able to sell them at a later date if something changes so nothing to worry about there. The only thing to consider is the market price of those tickets may vary in the future so it could either be more or less than what you paid for your tickets today

Do you initially get your tickets from ticketmaster or do you get them elsewhere? And would there be problems for someone in the uk selling tickets to Canadian or American events
@thumbsuprun

Most tickets will come from Ticketmaster initially since they normally operate the box office ticket sales. The only problems someone from the UK would have selling tickets to Canadian or US events is that you may not be able to list and sell on Ticketmaster directly unless you have a bank account set up in those countries

If I purchased ticket insurance In case the event gets cancelled do I have to refund the $$ back to the person or does Ticketmaster do it directly to the person who bought it off of me ?
@thumbsuprun
@thumbsuprun 3 жыл бұрын
I think you may be mixing up a few different things. 1) ticket insurance only applies if the ticket purchaser is no longer able to attend the event due to a covered reason (ie sick, travel issues, etc) 2) if an event gets cancelled, Ticketmaster will refund the original ticket purchaser only. If the tickets were resold to someone else, Ticketmaster will NOT refund the final purchaser. 3) if you resold your tickets on a resale marketplace (Ticketmaster, Stubhub, etc) and the event gets cancelled, the seller is responsible for refunding the purchaser. However, if you’ve not been paid for the sale yet, then you won’t owe anything when the event gets cancelled. You’ll simply receive a refund from Ticketmaster if you are the original purchaser. Hope that clears it up!

What if you buy a festival ticket that comes with a wristband? Am I supposed to send them the wristband or is the email ticket enough for them?

It depends how the festival allows access. Many times the wristband IS the ticket, no the email confirmation. Ensure you set up the delivery correctly. It’s possible that you need to send both, while other times it may simply just be the wristband OR the mobile ticket. Double check to ensure you don’t run into an issue

You’re definitely able to resell a Ticketmaster resale ticket. If the event gets cancelled and you’ve sold the tickets, you’ll get back a refund on what you paid for the ticket. If they were sold, you would owe whatever you received for the ticket sale. Essentially you’ll be back to net 0

Some events on Ticketmaster do not enable resale for a multitude of reasons. However, it doesn’t mean you can’t resell the tickets. Once you have your barcodes, you can attempt to list them directly on Stubhub as they are the official resale partner for the MLB. Otherwise you can list the tickets on various other platforms like TickPick as mobile transfer tickets (so long as the transfer option is enabled)

@thumbsuprun
@thumbsuprun 2 жыл бұрын
If they are grayed out, you’re a big at a loss in terms of selling the tickets via Ticketmaster and most other resale sites. To actually sell will call tickets, you have a couple of options. 1) you need to call the venue or contact Ticketmaster to see if you can do a name change on the order. If yes, then you can basically sell the tickets privately and then just make sure to update the name for pickup to the new buyer. I would check with the venue first before trying to sell the tickets. 2) you agree to meet the buyer at the venue before the event and pick up the tickets yourself and then hand deliver them to the new buyer. Only works if you are able to actually go and pick up the tickets though. Some venues will even let you pick up tickets well in advance of the event date but again you need to call the venue first to confirm if they offer this. Many times it’s day of show only.

U listed a ticket and at the bottom of the email it says when the tickets are purchased the payment will go to my account 10-13 days after the concert and the concert is all the way in November. But idk if it will actually take that long for them to put the payment in my account???

Many resale marketplaces are only doing ‘pay after event’ because they are trying to conserve cash. The payout will likely only take place 2 weeks after the event is completed. So if it gets delayed a year, then your payment will also get delayed :(

@thumbsuprun

Generally the new buyer won’t see the original price of the tickets, once they move over to the new buyer the standard is the tickets display as 0.00$ for face value. Only exception here is some season seats keep the face value as they move over (what the original person paid) or if they are PDF tickets then it obviously doesn’t change then either. But normally it displays as 0

Hey! So i bought a resale ticket, but i found a better seat (also a resale ticket) that i want to purchase. If i sell the original resale ticket that i bought, the refund automatically goes to the seller correct? Also, if the event is postponed or canceled once i’ve sold that ticket, am i responsible for refunding the buyer or is the other seller responsible (the one who sold it to me)?
@thumbsuprun
@thumbsuprun 2 жыл бұрын
For the original resale ticket, if the event is cancelled then you should be able to get a refund on the purchase from the place you purchased the ticket from. The original ticket buyer will get a refund from the box office. If you sell a ticket, you’re technically responsible for refunding the buyer of that ticket (but it would just be for the sale price you sold it to them at) and you would get a refund from the person/site you purchased the ticket from

@thumbsuprun
@thumbsuprun Жыл бұрын
Great question! The simple answer is it doesn’t matter when tickets are available for viewing and when tickets are able to be resold on Ticketmaster, they are two independent options. Tickets can be enabled for resale on TM well before barcodes are available for you to view in your account. Other times events are just not enabled for resale at all. If an event does not turn on resale a few days after the general sale takes place, then it’s very likely the event will not turn on resale at all through TM. In that case, you’ll need to list and sell the tickets on a different platform. You can always list your tickets on other platforms at any time, but make sure you put the in hand date as late as possible to line up with when the tickets will become available for you to transfer

@thumbsuprun
@thumbsuprun 2 жыл бұрын
When listing tickets, the standard is to never leave 1 seat on its own. If you leave everything as default, the tickets will sell as a single, or a group of 3. If a single is purchased, than the 2 remaining seats will only be sold as a pair. There should generally be an option to say ‘don’t leave 1 ticket’ but the standard is to ensure it doesn’t leave only 1. Which platform are you looking to list on?

It usually takes about a 5-8 business days for payment to post if you sold them directly through Ticketmaster to your bank, and then your bank may take a few days to process the payment as well. If you try contacting customer support they would be able to tell you what’s going on though. I wouldn’t be too worried yet, they are a little slow at times...

So it's only possible to sell tickets if I have an USA account? What if I'm not from the USA or Canada? For example, I'm from Brazil, is there an option for another country?

@thumbsuprun 2 жыл бұрын
If you’re trying to sell tickets in a different country than you live in on Ticketmaster, you need to have a bank account in that country the event is taking place in. If you live in Brazil, my recommendation is to list tickets on a different platform instead of Ticketmaster (try Stubhub or SeatGeek as an example)

Hi, So it’s Legal to resale tickets on sites Like TM and stubhub without having a License in the different states?
@thumbsuprun
@thumbsuprun 2 жыл бұрын
Some states do require a license such as New York, though it’s only for ‘professional’ resellers who meet the criteria for this label. For the average fan selling a ticket here and there though, you normally don’t need a license but would still need to report the income for tax purposes

You can choose to have your listing of 4 tickets to be sold as a pair or as a set of 4. It’s completely up to you! It’s easier to let the buyer be able to decide between 2 and 4 instead of forcing them one way or the other. In general most listings will default to only selling in even amounts depending on the site you list it to

It’s possible the event is not enabled for TM resale, or your account is missing some seller info to be able to list the tickets. Check the event and see if others have listed tickets for it already (should see red dots on ticketmaster) and if so then it’s likely you just need to complete the seller info before you can activate your listings. If there are no resale seats though then Ticketmaster has not enabled resale on the event

Well if you’re looking to sell the ticket now instead of use them, there’s no guarantee you’ll be able to sell it for enough to get back all your money you paid depending on the cost of the tickets your mom paid. You can certainly try to list them for enough and hope someone does purchase them though at the price you like! It’s tough when you purchase resale tickets since the cost can be much higher. See what people are currently selling tickets for in a similar section and row as yours and see if they are around the price you paid (or more or less)

Not concerned! When tickets are listed on Ticketmaster for resale for GA events, only the lowest priced tickets show up initially. This applies only to GA style seating options. No concern at all 😁

There is usually an option to select ‘odd even’ type seating. This way it’ll know to skip every other seat number. Worst case sometimes is to just list them as 22,23,24 in your listing but as long as your seats are actually all next to each other, it’ll be fine for the buyer when they receive the seats if there is a minor mismatch on the seat number itself

Is it just the small disclosure before you cart the tickets that you are talking about? They tend to put that on almost all events these days but ticket transfer restrictions are extremely rare and made very clear if they are in place. Usually this would just imply there may be a delivery delay in place instead. However, if Ticketmaster resale is enabled for the event, there is no reason why your tickets wouldn’t be eligible to either transfer in the future or be restricted from being listed on TM+ resale

Yes you do. The refund account option is in case you sell tickets on Ticketmaster resale but the event is cancelled or postponed. Double check your banking information at this step - I don’t think the credit card is the issue. Do you have a bank account set up in the country where the event is taking place? Well you could just price everything as cheap as possible and it’ll sell 100% of the time, but there’s no guarantee you’ll make any money doing that (in fact it’s likely you’ll lose money). You should look to price your tickets similarly to what they are going for in a similar section and row as yours. If you price more aggressively, you can reduce your prices a bit compared to them if you’d like to get rid of your seats faster but you are likely leaving money on the table that way. It’s a lot of trial and error at the start
