You need more land for a meat diet than a vegetarian diet....you have to feed the animals you eat...

I think Peter Singer, if anybody, would not immediately dismiss this argument of mine: To live an ethical life is to stop breeding. Not just some of us. Maybe most of (continuously), but definitely I want to explore whether at the very least that humans should be lower in number. There are many reasons to argue against this but the major one might be that humans are capable of doing good things, and that's sufficient depending on your utilitarian viewpoint.

I did some research, and one long haul flight is equal to a years' worth of extensive driving. If an environmentalist vacations by plane, that makes anything else they do next to irrelevant.

Cutting forest down so that there is more land for farming also helps to raise CO2 levels...

Remember, just because you are a vegetarian doesn't mean you have less of an impact on the environment. Growing large amounts of fruits and veggies not only takes energy, it also pollutes the land(see Round Up, et al) and removes valuable resources in the soil(fungi, nutrients, ect). Don't get me wrong there are issues with large scale factory farms but, meat is nutrient dense and self mobile.
