There all sorts of wrong in this. He said he was a site warden, why is he looking for trains and not that the team don’t stray outside of the safe area ? A Blue / White chequered flag is a warning when a lookout is giving a distant warning, not to acknowledge trains. Walking in the 4ft? Sounds like you had a Line Blockage at times but CESS is best if at all possible. Need to get this right guys if the world is to see it. I am a S&T man of over 35 years so I’m not just being a armchair warrior here

the description of emergency protection didn't exactly fill me with warm feelings. I don't expect a word-perfect recital of the rulebook, but a lookout of all people should be able to describe it clearly

Completely agree, no wonder lookout is now banned in the majority of places.

@@Bowser2001 that’s right your not. He said he was acting as Site Warden (shouldn’t distract these either) but they look for people not to stray outside of the Separated Area. He wasn’t doing either of these things properly. I don’t want to be all Amal about these things but this video is a bit all over the place and doesent put a very good safety message out

@@davecook3840 Honestly, no need to justify yourself, you've got to be dead serious when it comes to safety. Other question I have in mind is what on earth possessed them to let a vlogger - who I think might not even be PTS given the behaviour and strange PPE - tag along for open line working

Im new to pts and have been told full ppe meaning long sleeves looking for trainning videos this type dont help

It's not compulsory in hot weather.. They give allowances. More risk a worker get to hot and heat stroke on the line.. Also this is a small team not a bam or amey contract..
