In law school, they teach that the jury “judges” the individual within the first 3 minutes of laying eyes of the individual. This has been proven by science. This is why attorneys have their client dress in a suit, clean, short hair for men. Clean modest style for women. Having proper hygiene a must. The studies show that a person that has poor hygiene and is not well dressed is found guilty more times than an individual who is cleaned up. More goes into this study, such as “does the individual look like a person a jury member hates?” Then it’s usually a bad outcome. Etc. Bosses who perform job interviews, sadly are in this line of judging quickly based on appearance. So while we as women want to be respected and looked at for what we can “bring to the table” so to speak. The world is just not there yet! These are good tips for all. Not to look rich - but to be taken seriously! The dark colored “power suit” is a real thing people. Just PLEASE do not get into a situation that someone takes you serious… and then you have no idea what you are talking about. I have seen that happen in a professional setting many times. They look the part, get the job… then fail because they were not educated in the field they applied. Keep it HONEST along with these tips and you will have doors open up for you.
